|Descent: Journeys In The Dark | Published 24 November 2009||Rating||25 votes|
Beneath heavy stone and fetid earth, in grimy caves and echoing caverns far below the surface, a horde of fearsome creatures lie in wait for Terrinoth’s mightiest heroes. So it has been for age on age, since times now lost in antiquity.
Descent: Journeys in the Dark is a tactical board game for 2-5 players that takes a party of adventurers deep into the dungeons of Terrinoth for adventure, treasure, and glory. But beware! The Overlord and his minions stand poised to oppose any heroes foolhardy enough to enter the dungeon.
you mean FFG already did a reprint without those errors?
I just bought the Compendium....but I didn't see all those errors!!
I want to ask to FFG: 1) why have you print the Compendiun so early??!!
2) Shall we ever see the others "ice-themed" plot cards? Did you forget them??!!
3) We're still waiting for SoB rules online (or at least for more news 'bout it)!!
With such an error percentage I can not but assume that once the corrected reprint hits the shelves FFG:s customer support will offer an exchange program for all customers who payed hard-earned cash for a substandard product.
I bought the book and I can't believe all the mistakes in it, the first has to be all the maps are crooked! They are all at a 30 degree angle! How was that overlooked in the edit process!
Now the quests are really awesome and I can't wait to play them but if there is so many errors why release the book early? Now I wish I waited for the reprint.
Oh well beggars can't be choosers
I'm also going to wait for the second edition or reprint to come out before buying. Hard to believe an FFG product could be released with such a huge neglect for QA.
Thanks for the errata, it's very good.
Think I'll wait for the reprint.
So, about 12% of the page count is composed of printing errors? That's impressively awful even if many of the errors are graphic-heavy maps, which are notoriously hard to proof properly.
Then again, my groups gave up on the game because of endless balance issues, not editing mistakes.
That being said. I DO appreciate finally being able to play with the compendium. I am staring at it on my floor with an evil smile. Can't wait to try it out this holiday weekend. I guess this was to be expected. After all no FFG product is without errata. So thanks for at least getting the corrections done in time for the holiday. =)
Can we get an apology with this article for selling us a product with 10 pages of errors? I still can't see why people are giving thanks for mistakes that were blatantly overlooked.
I am a HUGE fan of FFG, but sorry, right is right and wrong is wrong. Do the right thing and swallow the pride and owe up to the mistakes. It's a lot cheaper than having to reprint or provide a free PDF of the book.
I wouldn't be making this post if the PDF had a simple "Sorry for all the mistakes, here are the fixes for the Quest Compendium"
I think for Vol.2 I will wait for the critics responses for once before buying . Every other FFG purchase I have bought on the day of release since Twilight 3rd edition.
You now what "Compendium" did to WFRP? ^_____^
Thanks a lot for the errata.
