Announcing the fourth battle pack for Warhammer: Invasion |
| Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game | Published 09 November 2009 | Rating | 25 votes |

The first battle pack, The Skavenblight Threat, saw the emergence of the diseased and squabbling Skaven. The second battle pack, The Path of the Zealot, brought new forces for the Skaven and the witch hunters... and the third, Tooth and Claw, brought forth new heroes to battle the growing rat menace. Now, Fantasy Flight Games is pleased to announce the upcoming release of the fourth battle pack for Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game, The Deathmaster’s Dance!
The forces of Order have put up a valiant fight against the relentless spread of the Skaven, but now a new threat has arisen, a threat that goes by name of Deathmaster Sniktch...
The Deathmaster’s Dance is the fourth monthly Battle Pack installment of The Corruption Cycle, the first linked expansion series for Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game, a card game of intense warfare, clever kingdom management, and epic questing. This 40 card pack contains 20 different never-before-seen cards designed to augment existing decks and add variety to the Warhammer: Invasion metagame!
Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game is a card game by Eric M. Lang in which 2 players develop their kingdoms and lay waste to their foes. Each side is comprised of either the forces of Order -Dwarfs, High Elves, Empire- or the forces of Destruction -Orcs, Chaos, Dark Elves- as they seek to extend their empire to include the entire Old World.
Hmm yeah, it's nice and all but I haven't seen any battleback in the stores :(
Yes the FFG trumpet is on overdrive but here's 2 solutions;
1 Players - just play like mad till they get here - then you will enjoy them even more.
2 FFG - just release the battle pack before christmas or we will send the undead after you.
and please make sure you send product to Australia first, it takes longer to get here ; )
Doing a great job fella's. Can't wait to see what you have in store for the DE deck.
the first set should be out at the end of this month, then it will be no time at all till we have the whole cycle..
Has anyone made a DE or HE deck yet? Does not seem like there will be enough cards to do a mono deack till the end of the whole cycle...
Does anyone know if the packs will be less useful if not purchased in order? Like if you skipped the first 2 battle packs and went for packs 3 and 4, would this hamper their usefulness? Either way, I can't wait to see these battlepacks come out, I'm quite the skaven fan.
I presume it should be Deathmaster Snikch, not Sniktch ;-)
I echo the voices of most in saying that all of this advertising seems a bit ahead of schedule. I mean, how am I supposed to be excited about...
"The forces of Order have put up a valiant fight against the relentless spread of the Skaven, but now a new threat has arisen, a threat that goes by name of Deathmaster Sniktch..."
...when in actual game terms, the Skaven haven't even shown up on the scene yet? Talking about the plot developments of coming expansion packs as if they have already happened, when in reality we have yet to see them come to the table, seems a little odd - I feel teased.
There will be no new factions in the BP's until there is a themed cycle concerning them. While this cycle is themed on the Skaven and Witchhunters, each BP will contain cards for all six factions.
FFG designs, tests, and prints all the cards in a Battle Pack cycle together, stores them in their warehouse, and then ships them to distributors in monthly release order. It can be frustrating to be teased with a product not available, but complaining that they are wetting our appetite seems a little silly. It's like getting mad at the waiter for describing the specials before he takes your order.
If you check the preview for SBT it lists the "three" cards Skaven will get and the "three" cards Witch Hunters will get. I would therefore assume the other packs will contain a similar mix. 6 cards in 20 leaves 14, so add 2 neutral cards and 2 for each of the other factions and I think that will be about it. I agree, dont be negative about these previews, they dont do you any harm and they do let us know FFG are pretty serious about supporting the game!
I have to agree that this seems a little ahead of schedule when we haven't even seen the first expansion out yet. Great to see some excitement but hows about focusing on pushing the current product as well as upcoming as opposed to what is showing up next year.
Just curious - is the relentless advertising of a tide of unreleased products normal? Don't get me wrong - I have the base game and I enjoy it, and I guess having an advertised and announced product line is a good thing, but ... actually, it's not like they're touting it all over the internet, it's just being annnounced on the company's own website and it'll probably be out in less than six months anyway.
I am a little curious as to whether these battle packs will consist of mostly cards for non-affiliated factions (such as the Skaven) with no Capital Board as yet, with a percentage dedicated to filling out and giving new ideas for the main factions.
Hey, don't be so harsh on FFG, people. It's good to have some insights into the contents of other Battle Packs even before the first one has been released. The same thing was with the Call of Cthulhu LCG and I like to know what's coming next.
Cheers.
