Resolved henceforth in the name of the Most Beneficent God-Emperor of Mankind, the High Lords of Terra grant Warrants of Trade to those brave souls listed here, and to all of their line, from this day unto the end of time....
The list of Officially Sanctioned Rogue Traders (pdf, 784kb), consisting of fans who personalized their copies of Rogue Trader Collector’s Edition, is now on the support page!
Rogue Trader is a roleplaying game set in dark gothic far future of Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000 universe. Players take on the roles of explorers aboard a Rogue Trader's ship, searching for profit and adventure while discovering new alien cultures and threats in the uncharted regions of space.
@ patchworkkid:
I'm surprised you went all the way down to the bottom of that list to find my name. I suppose I should be flattered...but i'm wondering why you'd even bother to mention me.
@ Patchworkkid: Why not? There are certainly all kinds of names in the 41st millenium, including nicknames.
Wait, hang on. This means that now, as part of official canon that will be used in upcoming supplements, we have sanctioned Rogue Traders named Brad, Lance, Greg, Linda. 'XJC', 'Weaver95' and 'The Hall Family'? What the hell?
What font is that they have used.. its very nice
Oooo I have a smidgen of envy.... Looks like Ill have to be one of the other holders of a warrant who are not officially sanctioned and have to make hasty bribes at port wander...after all sometimes as a rogue trader its best to stay under the radar...
Wow, even here I'm last.
I've never seen such a list of cool and fantastic names listed in one place before. This is truly epic, and I echo DrgnScorpion's sentiments. With a few exceptions, everyone did an amazing job picking names colorful and appropriate to the setting; so full of character.
I'm particular fond of 'Anais Harker', and 'Dante Balthasar'. This is totally sweet! Thanks! :D
The Emperor has blessed these people with the clout and faith to have their names forge through unexplored space...I repeat...the Kronus Expanse is UNEXPLORED. So maps of it...for right now..not needed..GM makes them. But for these people who got their names in the official backstory. EPIC and I envy you, if I could order one for the school club I run, I would but I cant so I envy all those who did.
Sidenote: Its the first book in a new expansion, they probably have other things that are important to add...like Harlequins...they put the weapon of doom in...give us a creature more dangerous than a lictor...but not a carnifex...oh god no...no carnifexes...as a player no...as a GM...YES!!!!!...or for more fun....SPACE HULKS....and the creatures that infest them...like Broodlords.
2 cents done.
And, by the way, the PDF is a great resource for Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader characters... lots of cool names!... In my case, I went for Jaar Locke
And I received my personalized copy today at my office!!!! One of the best working days of my life! Lovely work, FFG!

I don't know... maybe they are just demonstrating that as a company they offer cool things to customers who are willing to buy collectors editions.
I didn't get one of them but you know what, good for the guys that did and good for FFG for the 30K or so they made on the promotion. If they spend some time rewarding thier supporters then AWESOME! Its a PDF, beleive me its not like they spent two weeks making that list. It probably took less than an hour.
As to your other points about making updated maps, true, good point, I'm sure they will.
Just relax though. Its only a list of supporters.
(I'm so tired of getting on here and reading all these people whining. Its crap like this that nixed the Arkham Horror Miniatures)
Also, as a side comment, the map of the Koronus Expanse is deisgned so GMs (and players) can create their own area. That's why there will be a Star System generator in the GM's Toolkit/Screen. You may have noticed that the map of the Koronus Expanse is a bit sparse...
You're missing the point. These names are the ones that will (and have) be added into the "official" background of the setting (sourcebooks, stories, etc) and used by the writers when they release future supplements. This was noted when the orders were placed (which is why you had to provide a name when you bought it). Congrats to those Rogue Traders who have been immortalized forever more!
Why? Does this offer support or help? Good for those people, yes I agree that a personalized copy of Rogue Trader is cool. However, I do question your logic in spending the time and likely minimal resources in making this list. Why not do something useful instead? Like streamline your design process so that when you give retailers like Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, and independent stores a release date, you can meet it. Or if you are focusing on support for Rogue Trader, why not come out with an updated map of the expanse like what was done for the Calixis map in Dark Heresy? Has anyone else noted that the system that the explorers in "Into the Maw" must explore is not where it says it is?
That said, I do enjoy Rogue Trader and Dark Heresy. However, I will likely never understand what possesses you do make the decisions that you make.
Michael Kelleher in case anyone is wondering :o)
