We have listened to your concerns and considered your valuable feedback regarding our announcement of the Arkham Horror Investigator Miniatures. Having weighed the desires of our fans and considered our manufacturing options, Fantasy Flight Games has opted to hereby cancel the release of this product.
"It was very clear from the vocal feedback that we received that the majority of our players were strongly unfavorable towards the price-point and packaging that we had planned for these figures," stated Christian T. Petersen, CEO of FFG. "Unfortunately, as it's not remotely feasible for FFG to produce quality painted figures in the assortments and at the price-point range suggested from our customer feedback, we've decided to cancel this product. For obvious reasons, we have no interest in creating product that does not match our customers’ expectations, nor of pushing product into the retail channel that will not be successful for our professional partners. We apologize to the customers who were excited about the announced figures, and will continue to investigate avenues in the future to make the reality of painted miniatures for Arkham Horror a reality."
As always, we at Fantasy Flight Games would like to thank our loyal fans for their continued feedback and support.
Arkham Horror is a boardgame of mystery and madness set in Arkham in the 1920's. Players investigate the strange happenings about the town, and race to prevent ancient evil from surfacing. Playable with 1-8 players.
This is a great shame, I was so looking forward to these miniatures. Hope FFG will reconsider this at a later date. Or at the least release a collectors Edition of A.H with figures included. Ifor one would pay good money for thay
Considering how FFG was determined to deliver this product it is probably best to cancel it.
Sure, some hard core fans with disposable income were willing to purchase the minitures
no matter the circumstances but obviously this wasn't enough to go ahead with the project.
I can't help but think that with a little flexibility in the delivery this could have been a reality.
Since when has FFG ever responded with such decisive action to customer feedback?!
I wish they would have taken customer opinion into account before going to white-boardered
cards for their Call of Cthulhu LCG! But as Fantasy Flight Games CEO Christian T. Peterson
often likes to remind us, "He's the boss!'.
So are FFG planning to do a collector's edition?
I sincerely hope the figures will eventually make an appearance. I would suggest, however, that they be packaged and sold in sets according to the breakdown of investigators as distributed in the base game and expansions, or as a complete set of 48. An additional lure might also be a durable, AH-themed storage case which can accomodate the complete set.
There was a great project and some suckers killt it just because of some dollars thanx and play with lego!
This is a sad news, I would really enjoy those figures :-(
Would have been cool if they released them for each set. iie base game has all those investigators and DW theirs etc. Maybe $30 for 16 minis 15 for 8, etc
Very disappointing, would have loved to have them. As written by several others maybe they can be produced in the future as roleplaying/ miniature/ board game items and maybe appeal to a wider market. Personally I would have gotten them all, but I could see where price could have effected both buyer and retailer.
A pity. The current character figures topple when the wind blows.
well one thing they could do if people really wanted them and wouldnt a little wait they could do something where you order them online then they make and ship them to you as such. i mean me and a friend each have bought the entire game and both of us were uber excited for the minis
This is the first I'm hearing about these figures that will never be. When were they first announced? I'm totally fine with the markers that come with the game though, so it's not a huge loss. I would have gotten them though. No doubt.
Pity...a real pity. I was really looking forward to these also...alas.
