"Do you think this game has unicorns?"
Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce our newest card game, Penny Arcade! Set in the wold of your favorite web-comic, Penny Arcade puts you in the middle of the epic battles between Tycho and Gabe. Unleash attacks at your rival, such as Mein Leapen or the (Cardboard) Tube Strike. Put your Hijinks to good use, employing your beard-growing abilities with Oneupsmanship or the powers of Skullduggery. Collect Stuff, and acquire the Rare Card or your ally in the tub Sir Quacks-a-lot. Hidden in each deck is also the awe-inspiring powers of the Watch, and it is sure to trade hands quite often as abuse is heaped on the head of whoever holds it.
Designed by James Hata, Penny Arcade is a brand new experience. Each turn, you will have to employ your strength and intelligence to best effect to smash the face of your foe. Tycho, being the smarter of the two, can bring to bear many different Hijinks to ensure his victory. Using combinations of Attacks and Hijinks, Tycho can set up the perfect Really Big Word Attack. While not the brainy side of things, Gabe can serve up heaping helpings of pain with his brute strength. Firing off attack after attack can be just as effective as the big combinations his opponent will utilize, and nothing feels better than a shot to Tycho’s nether regions with Unsporting Conduct.
Each deck features the feel of the characters. Gabe’s sees him hiding behind the couch and using his apathy as the ultimate defense. Tycho summons forth his Vast Intellect to overwhelm the boy wonder, and loves nothing more than the feel of a natural 20 with Critical Strike.
For fans and newcomers alike, Penny Arcade is a fun, fast-paced cad game for two players. Though only one can walk away the victor, both sides will be itching for another go.
Penny Arcade is a card game for two players featuring the characters from the hit web comic of the same name. Gabe and Tycho employ various attacks, hijinks, and stuff they have acquired over the years to assist them in beating down their rival. Playable in less than 30 minutes, Penny Arcade is easy to learn and impossible to master.
Um...WayToTheDawn, you know this is not a CCG, right? It's a single, two-player game in one box. What kind of "support and funds" are they supposed to put behind it?
Woo! Another great idea for a card game that FFG will ruin with lack of support and funds! ^_^
I'll probably still buy both Starters though, cause I'm a sucker for Penny Arcade, lol
For those saying "Whats Penny Arcade". I can't help you since you guys are apperently living in an internet cave. I'm not saying everyone likes the comic but a hell of a lot of people have heard of it. They run a yearly game convention that has become bigger then Gencon in just a couple years(PAX). They run a great charity(Childs Play) that earns millions of dollars and donations for children's Hospitals every year. They have a web comic that gets a few billion hits a day.
For thos with weak Google-fu

Again just because you don't like it, don't assume its not popular.
Never heard of Penny Arcade, but this game looks like it could be a lot of fun. I like the art too. I think my kids would actually quite like to play this one. Hope the gameplay is good.
"Is there a really big Penny Arcade fan base?" That made me lol. =P
I'm no crusader for the cause or anything, but they are big enough to have their own convention every year. That should tell you something.
As far as whether or not I'll buy this... Let's just say I'm intrigued. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this to see how it unfolds. I also agree with Rudy that this is a significant and unexpected IP. I hope it works out for both corporate entities. =)
I'm sorry but that "Easy to learn, Impossible to master." Line made me lol. I really love PA, I'll have to keep track of this one.
Uhm ... it's not April 1st, or is it?
You know, I have to say. You guys really impress me. You have been landing some huge properties, including some incredibly unexpected ones. I mean, Penny Arcade? That's genius. Congratulations, guys. Really. Keep up the good work.
My card playing gang has only vaguely heard of this 'hit' web comic. I don't see any buying this game based on theme alone particularly since there is a lot of other great upcoming stuff from Fantasy Flight sucking up their game funds. Is there really a big Penny Arcade fan base?
A recap as to what the heck is 'Penny Arcade' might help the uninitiated. Plus a deion of gameplay since a great game can overcome a weak theme.
I just wish more staff attention was paid to existing material stuck in the game design pipeline, say like Battlelore expansions or the rethemed Dune boardgame.
Seems a waste of money and resources to me... i don't see many people buying this.
Well I can't say I'm personally excited about this, but I'm definitely interested into see how you guys even worked this into a game. :P
for some reason, I WANT this.
