Greetings Dark Heresy fans!
This week concludes the art previews for The Radical’s Handbook, a new sourcebook for Dark Heresy that delves into the depths of the Radical factions of the Inquisition. These passionate servants of the Imperium stray from the Puritan path to take up the tools of Chaos, Aliens, and Heretics to use against them. Below, you will find a selection of images from this book to help illustrate this concept.
First, we have an image of a Heretek, steeped in the arcane mysteries of Tech-heresy.
Second, we have an image of a shadow operative in the Radical factions.
Third, we present a glimpse at a Calixian faction of Radical Inquisitors known as the Phaeninites.
Fourth, we have an image of a Radical Throne Agent caught between two masters.
Last, we have an image of a Radical Inquisitor carrying out an execution of an Acolyte who simply knew too much...
The Next Step
In future installments, I will be delving into the shadowy corners of The Radical’s Handbook to provide a few more clues and details about the contents of this massive tome. Until then, may the light of the Golden Throne show you the way!
Dark Heresy is a roleplaying game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, the grim darkness of the far future. Players take on the roles of Acolytes serving the Inquisition, rooting out heresy and corruption from within the galaxy-spanning Imperium of Man.
Tech-heresy? Fascinating. May the rest of the book be up to the same level of quality as the art itself.
Dude, just because we get previews of the art doesn't mean there will be no rules in there ....
Dude, when your outfit can have in built suspencers so powerful that touching the ground serves only the purpose of propulsion and the stilettos themselves can be made of noice dampening materials, design is freed up somewhat. now what would be really cool is bladed heels. :D
Heh, cannon or not the stilettos struck me too. Try to be balanced like that... Not to mention noiseless! :)
Not a fan of the stilettos. At least she's not in a midriff. 40k generally portrays women quite well (check out the arbitrator from the core rulebook) and realistically. Every now and then you'll get a JB high heeled sister of battle, but the majority are not like that.
I know,. the entire 40k setting is silly with giant gothic buttresses on starships and all, but the stilleto heels for silent combat somehow bugs me. If an artist can't pose a sexy woman in a skin-tight bodysuit in flats and make her look sexy, get a new artist.
yeah. You guys are way too impatient. Women assassins in stilletos are very john blanche and totally cannon. Besides shes' probably got stack loads of agility and acrobatics...so she can probably do anything she likes in those heels. I wouldnt kick her out of bed for eating biscuits.
Great art work Ross!!! cant wait.
Art is a core part of any product in the industry, even sort organised play adventures have atleast one peice of art and a Map.
Books are sold as an entire product and the art is part of what you pay for. It performs a myriad of functions within a book from breaking up dense text to convaying detail about the setting and providing insperation.
I for one am very glad to get a peek at this book and am now giving very serious thought to buying it on the basis of several peices of art that the captions attatched. Why? Because the art and captions in question told me that the book was going to contain elements which would be useful in my game. I had initially been unsure if the book would, and know i certainly believe it will.
Jess you guys are harsh. Just take these two preview for what they are... a bribe because the book is running late, it was supposed to be out last month according to Schola Progenium.
Very intriguing. Can't wait to see the rest!
I love the gothic tech imagery, so I can never have enough images of Hereteks. Nice work.
Ross show us what he can.
By now, i don´t remember when the book is due to ship out... but i don´t think there´s anything more samples to show apart from the art, than can be placed anywhere in the book. And the rules... well, that why u buy a rulebook, it´s not? U don´t get them free, if U want to get some money for Ur hard work.
