A Note About the Rulebook and Reference Guide
We took a new approach to the rules in Eldritch Horror with the inclusion of both a rulebook and a reference guide. The rulebook, posted last week, provides setup instructions, and teaches new players how to play Eldritch Horror quickly and effectively. The reference guide, on the other hand, serves as a companion to the game, where players can find answers to questions that may arise throughout game play, look up common rule exceptions, and find out more detailed rules information as they delve further into Eldritch Horror.
Every game has rules exceptions, interactions, and scenarios that come up during play that require additional explanation. Alongside addressing these important exceptions and in-game scenarios, a rulebook must also teach the game to a new player. These two very different goals are oftentimes at odds with one another, so in order to provide an effective teaching tool, as well as a comprehensive guide to Eldritch Horror, we thought it best to create a separate rulebook and reference guide. With the help of the rulebook, you’ll be able to set up Eldritch Horror, and quickly learn how to play. The reference guide will help you with any questions that may come up during a game of Eldritch Horror.
Eldritch Horror is coming to a store near you soon! Download the rulebook and reference guide today, and arm yourself with the information you need to engage in a global battle against evil.
The end draws near! Do you have the courage to prevent global destruction? Eldritch Horror is a cooperative game of terror and adventure in which one to eight players take the roles of globetrotting investigators working to solve mysteries, gather clues, and protect the world from an Ancient One - an elder being intent on destroying our world.
