| Innsmouth Horror FFG is proud to announce the next expansion for Arkham Horror! |

During the winter of 1927-28 officials of the Federal government made a strange and secret investigation of certain conditions in the ancient Massachusetts seaport of Innsmouth. The public first learned of it in February, when a vast series of raids and arrests occurred, followed by the deliberate burning and dynamiting - under suitable precautions - of an enormous number of crumbling, worm-eaten, and supposedly empty houses along the abandoned waterfront. Uninquiring souls let this occurrence pass as one of the major clashes in a spasmodic war on liquor.
Keener news-followers, however, wondered at the prodigious number of arrests, the abnormally large force of men used in making them, and the secrecy surrounding the disposal of the prisoners. No trials, or even definite charges were reported; nor were any of the captives seen thereafter in the regular gaols of the nation. There were vague statements about disease and concentration camps, and later about dispersal in various naval and military prisons, but nothing positive ever developed. Innsmouth itself was left almost depopulated, and it is even now only beginning to show signs of a sluggishly revived existence.
The Shadow Over Innsmouth - H.P. Lovecraft

Innsmouth Horror introduces several new game concepts to the Arkham Horror board game. Among these are the Personal Stories, a new way for each investigator to contribute. These will provide a bit more of the back story for each investigator, including the 16 new investigators found in the Innsmouth Expansion. Another new feature is the Innsmouth Look deck. These cards represent the dangers inherent in staying in the town of Innsmouth any longer than necessary, and can spell the end for an unwary investigator. Stay tuned, as more secrets escape the town of Innsmouth...

I'm really looking forward to this but I agree that "At the Mountains of Madness" could also make a great expansion as well.
Of course, now that I bought a car, I have to decide: Innsmouth Horror or an extra $50 or so towards my principal... darn you FFG.
I can't not wait for this expansion, maybe I have gone insane but I love Arkham horror and don't ever want expansions to run out, just want a bigger box :)
"Personal Stories" are reminiscent of the Android game's mechanics, which is a wonderful idea for AH! Can't wait to see this one!
oh, this is gonna be great. and, hopefully, not very pricey ;)
I hope that innsmouth will be the best and the last of "big" expansions for that product line. Dont get me wrong i rly love that game but as i see it now there is too much of everything in it. Im playing mostly in 6-8 ppl group coz if there are less investigators there is no chance to win. Imo there should be more things like scenarios/small expansions. After IH if there will be more maps there wont be any chance to cover it with even 8 investigators.
Sweet!!! 16 new investigators! Can't wait!
Yes I agree as well with Shuffle the Deck. I wondered why some of the other world encounters were purple. Start showing something sneaky from Innsmouth!!!!
Great, great news in these troubled times! ;)
The Arkham Horror productline-up shapes up as real diamond for the Lovecraftian fans outthere!
And yes, looking forward to some adventures abroad like BTMOM & HOTOE aswell!
ShuffleTheDeck raises a good point here though! Such minor mishaps shouldnt have to take place when so much work is put into those very neat expansions!
I'm looking forward to my vacation in Y'hanth'lei...
non stop horror! Yeh........!
I agree with ShuffleTheDeck better proofing of the product before it goes to print is very important.
I'm curious if there will ever be an expansion "Providence Horror". Perhaps it is too real of a location not fictional like Arkham, Dunwich, Kingsport, or Innsmouth.
Hey FPG, the Arkham designers create a great game for us players. Can you please... please take the time to proof the cards and artwork before you go to press? We'd be glad to help you if you're too busy to do that job. Last few times you've made flubs on very obvious things.
When you print the game board do not give us another board with Purple Dots in the Other Worlds, please! It's supposed to be BLUE like the Other Worlds cards you guys are printing. OK? Plus, the fonts keep switching on the small cards - sometimes they're one font then they're something else. What are the style sheets for them... or are you farming the artwork out to different freelancers and not noticing the difference?
Hopefully we won't be seeing the same artwork previously published on cards either from other sets. You've got lots to use from the Cthulhu Card game set, or draw a few more! You've used art on several spell and weapon cards over a few times. Its confusing when you play this game and see the same image on another card. For goodness sake if you do, crop the art a lot differently please; or throw it in PhotoShop and a color tone on it, so we don't have see Storm of Spirits or RItual Blade again!
I don't mean to be complaining about these little things, but this is a great game and it has just seen some sloppy proofing from who ever is taking the game the last couple of steps in pre-press. I'll help out if you need graphic assistance as that's my field.
That's my two cents, and glad to see the next set on the way so soon! I can't wait... but it's worth proofing on last time.
A concerned patron.
I think a full sized board of At the Mountains of Madness is in order. It could be very easy. Bottom part of the board will represent the camp and shore, the mid could be the Mountain range your plane travels over and problems could occur while enroute to the city. The top part could be the city and the short caves they explore on the mission. The camp could have the cave, the bodies, the dogs, etc. and can gain clues from each area. In the cave you could get an Elder sign if your lucky, The bodies could give some hints as to what they can expect, the dogs could alarm the investigators when the poo hits the fan so to speak. Maybe the investigators could only be in the camp for a limited time due to the bodies coming alive again. Which in turn forces them to take to the air. Problems with the plane could cause bodily injury and time wasted getting the aircraft working again. As with the city the possibilities could be enormous. The tunnels well I've not come up with something yet, but I'm sure somebody will whoever reads this rambling. Hails.
This looks fantastic!
