Innsmouth Horror 58
FFG is proud to announce the next expansion for Arkham Horror!
Arkham Horror | Published 16 February 2009

During the winter of 1927-28 officials of the Federal government made a strange and secret investigation of certain conditions in the ancient Massachusetts seaport of Innsmouth. The public first learned of it in February, when a vast series of raids and arrests occurred, followed by the deliberate burning and dynamiting - under suitable precautions - of an enormous number of crumbling, worm-eaten, and supposedly empty houses along the abandoned waterfront. Uninquiring souls let this occurrence pass as one of the major clashes in a spasmodic war on liquor.

Keener news-followers, however, wondered at the prodigious number of arrests, the abnormally large force of men used in making them, and the secrecy surrounding the disposal of the prisoners. No trials, or even definite charges were reported; nor were any of the captives seen thereafter in the regular gaols of the nation. There were vague statements about disease and concentration camps, and later about dispersal in various naval and military prisons, but nothing positive ever developed. Innsmouth itself was left almost depopulated, and it is even now only beginning to show signs of a sluggishly revived existence.
The Shadow Over Innsmouth - H.P. Lovecraft

Innsmouth Horror introduces several new game concepts to the Arkham Horror board game. Among these are the Personal Stories, a new way for each investigator to contribute. These will provide a bit more of the back story for each investigator, including the 16 new investigators found in the Innsmouth Expansion. Another new feature is the Innsmouth Look deck. These cards represent the dangers inherent in staying in the town of Innsmouth any longer than necessary, and can spell the end for an unwary investigator. Stay tuned, as more secrets escape the town of Innsmouth...

I think there is now a need for FF to make an Arkham Horror Game Table - normal household tables just aren't big enough!

I'm really looking forward to this but I agree that "At the Mountains of Madness" could also make a great expansion as well.

Of course, now that I bought a car, I have to decide: Innsmouth Horror or an extra $50 or so towards my principal... darn you FFG.

I can't not wait for this expansion, maybe I have gone insane but I love Arkham horror and don't ever want expansions to run out, just want a bigger box :)

"Personal Stories" are reminiscent of the Android game's mechanics, which is a wonderful idea for AH! Can't wait to see this one!

I hope that innsmouth will be the best and the last of "big" expansions for that product line. Dont get me wrong i rly love that game but as i see it now there is too much of everything in it. Im playing mostly in 6-8 ppl group coz if there are less investigators there is no chance to win. Imo there should be more things like scenarios/small expansions. After IH if there will be more maps there wont be any chance to cover it with even 8 investigators.

Yes I agree as well with Shuffle the Deck.  I wondered why some of the other world encounters were purple.  Start showing something sneaky from Innsmouth!!!!

Great, great news in these troubled times! ;)

The Arkham Horror productline-up shapes up as real diamond for the Lovecraftian fans outthere!

And yes, looking forward to some adventures abroad like BTMOM & HOTOE aswell!

ShuffleTheDeck raises a good point here though! Such minor mishaps shouldnt have to take place when so much work is put into those very neat expansions!
