Dust Tactics | Published 15 February 2012

As the struggle continued, field officers became more and more important...as there were fewer of them every day. To protect them, each army was ready to make big sacrifices, risking the lives of many to save a few.
But without these few leaders, the armies would lose their heads quickly.

New leadership for your Dust Tactics forces is always a welcome addition. Every Commander needs top-notch leaders they can count on when the going gets rough. Several weeks ago, we previewed four new Dust Tactics heroes from the upcoming Hero Packs in Here Come the Heroes. This week’s preview takes a closer look at Action Jackson and Stefan. Look for the Allied Hero Pack and the Axis Hero Pack to be on your retailer’s shelves next week!  .

A blast of energy

As commanding officer of the 3rd Parachute Brigade, Action Jackson is famous for leading high-risk operations. Although he and his men have recently traded in their parachutes for lethal phaser weapons, they still prefer to be in the heart of any battle. Moreover, field-testing phaser technology is of the upmost importance to the Allies, and ASOCOM trusts Action Jackson and his Red Devils with this vital task.

Pairing Action Jackson with the Red Devils creates a unit that can produce an overwhelming amount of shots from their phaser guns. With just a few direct hits from these energy weapons, entire units and vehicles are ripped asunder. Action Jackson gives the squad the Assualt ability, which means they can temporarily increase their speed in order to get into a prime firing location. Furthermore, such is the power of phasers, that they ignore all cover. This makes Action Jackson and the Red Devils an ideal squad for dealing with targets in buildings or behind anti-tank traps.

Blazing heroics

Oberleutnant Stefan Retter is a master of close assaults. After seeing the effectiveness of the flamethrowers employed by the Allies, Stefan realized the weapon’s potential. Now he wields a deadly Flammenwerfer that indiscriminately melts flesh and metal. Fighting fire with fire, Stefan has turned one of the Allies own strengths against them.

For even more flamethrower attacks, join Stefan to a Sturmpioniere squad. Not only does this give you two brutal flamethrower attacks, but you also capitalize on pairing Sturmpionere’s Fast ability with Stefan’s Assault, creating a unit that can move at blistering speed for one activation (as many as 5 spaces). Also, this squad can be used to ferret out threats ranging from common foot soldiers to heavily armored vehicles. In addition to the flame weapons, this squad also has three Panzerfausts at their disposal, meaning they can deliver a crippling blow to almost any enemy.

With the new Dust Tactics Hero Packs, you’ll have even more resources to build the perfect army. Add Action Jackson, Stefan, or any of the other heroes included in these expansions to your army, and help determine the future of the world! Both the Allies Hero Pack and Axis Hero Pack will be available at your retailer next week.

Don’t forget about the Dust Tactics Walker Conversion Contest where your creation could become part of the range of models available from dust-models.com. Read the contest rules, and then submit your best walker creation.
