We announced in July that Dust Warfare, the miniatures game set in Paolo Parente’s war-torn world of Dust, was in development with an intended release by the end of 2011. Although we’ve crafted an excellent game, we saw an opportunity to take some extra time to add a final layer of polish and detail, ensuring the game meets the tremendous potential we see for it. Therefore, we made the decision to delay its release until late first quarter of 2012.
Our development team has made great use of this extra time to craft a truly outstanding product. We want to thank you for your patience and strongly believe that when you see the final game, you will agree that it was worth the wait.
Dust Warfare offers players intense and engaging tabletop miniatures combat set in an alternate 1940s reality in which World War II continues to rage, fueled by the introduction of alien technology and the development of fearsome combat walkers.
As an old AT43 player the delay story gets old fast!!!! However I must say things have been moving well with Dust and FFG in comparison. Waiting a quarter beats waiting a year or never even getting it!!!! We as product buyers and supporters of DUST/FFG do though have a right to express our frustration.
I think the reaction rules will be fine, if they keep them close to the way they work on Dust Tactics.
This was the cause of some confusion over at the DW board, all I got from there was "they don't owe us an update".
Since we finally did get an update, I can only conclude that FFG didn't remember to do it before and nobody checked the forums until now.
But oh well, not really important if the set is good, and besides, like I said, I have nothing against the delay if it's to give Andy & co the time they need.

This is one of the strangest updates I have ever read.
In Q1 2012 FFG tell us they were late landing DW in Q4 2011. I had worked this out.
Sorry FFG - Your really good with updates most of the time.
But if you knew you were going to be late in Q4 why did you not tell people earlier?
Problem is, Warfare is a first quarter release still, where the Russians and aircraft are listed as second quarter.
Anyone thinks the delay might be to release the Warfare rules after there are actually aricrafts in Dust Tactics, which is only recently set to release? Aircrafts are the only missing part of Tactics as of now.
Better have a complete set of rules in Warfare than an incomplete set that requires add-on books to play catch-up with new units that would release in Tactics with new rules and abilities.
Ugh! Could not stand SST. That reactive system was extremely clunky, hopefully DW's is much better.
How do the SST rules differ from the current Battlefield Evolution rules? Those are somewhat maligned among my playing group.
I have played one demo of SST in my time and I found the rules appealing, but never got into the game further.
Well if it's owt like Andy's previous vastly under-rated reaction based game 'Starship troopers' I reckon we are heading for a win-win situation. ST still ranked as one of the most exciting tabletops I have ever played!
Peacekeeper sure has a lot of conditions!
This is going to be awesome. Is there any way we can set up demo teams? That's the main reason why I didn't spring on Dust when it was first out, $100-150 is a lot to drop on a game without trying it first. And those teams could actively build the community in networked stores.
I never heard anything official, or even unofficial, or even rumor or even hearsay. However, I would definately buy a Dust RPG as long as it didnt A) Use D20, B) Use anythng remotely like WFRP 3E, C) Use Palladium, D) use anything remotley like WitchHunter, Shadowrun or Hollow Earth. Open D6 could work well or its own system.
As long as it isnt Savage Worlds!
