The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game | Published 09 November 2011

My Diary. My Unexpected Journey. There and Back Again. And What Happened After.
    –Bilbo Baggins

In a big, red leather book with plain covers, Bilbo Baggins kept meticulous records of all his journeys and adventures. There, too, Frodo Baggins recorded the events that were later retold in The Lord of the Rings. From these records, the great historian and linguist J.R.R. Tolkien was able to reconstruct the Hobbits’ adventures and retell them in English. Since that time, the tales of these brave Hobbits and their companions have become legendary, inspiring millions of people and zealous communities of fans from around the globe.

Imagine, then, what would have been lost had these brave Hobbits not set their adventures down to parchment and shared them with the world…

The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game Quest Log

The Quest Log for The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game is a fantastic, free online tool for you to share the results of your adventures in Middle-earth with other members of a large, global community of players. With it, you can record your game results for posterity’s sake, view the quests you’ve attempted and defeated, explore statistical analysis of your games, and compare results with your friends from The Lord of the Rings community forums.

The Quest Log allows you to track each game you play, or just those at which you succeed. You can choose how much information you wish to record, but the more you record, the more helpful the Quest Log can be. When you enter your results for a scenario, you record the number of players who participated, the heroes you chose for your fellowship, and your final score. If you want to be able to look back at your records and grow from them, you can also enter notes, anything from a brief one-line summary to your entire deck list and overview of your turn sequences.

After you’ve entered your games and recorded your results, you can compare them with those of your friends from across the worldwide The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game community. Whether you’re competitive and want to see how you measure against other active players, or whether you’re new and looking to find players who can offer you interesting insights into strategies and deck design–the Quest Log provides you a chance to see how other players are enjoying this fantastic, cooperative Living Card Game.

A new scoring system

In case you wondered what happened to your old scores, it’s worth noting that the Quest Log has been updated so that it now defaults to show only scores logged after November 1st, 2011, the first day of the new scoring system announced in the latest FAQ for The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game. As noted by the game’s designers, the new scoring system encourages players to move forward in their scenarios, better reflecting the urgency with which Middle-earth’s heroes undertake their quests. This new scoring system also moves us toward the launch of the game’s organized play program, which is currently being tested by R&D, and players eagerly anticipating organized play for The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game should appreciate the ability to enter their scores online and compare them to others, both previous results and other players’ results.

Meanwhile, none of your old scores have been lost. To view scores entered before November 1st, 2011, you can scroll to the bottom of the Quest Log and click a link that will change the date range for the scores you wish to view.

As with any tool, The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game Quest Log is only so useful as you make use of it. A world of fellow players awaits your membership. Join them and contribute to the ongoing conversations with our The Lord of the Rings community forum and Quest Log.

 Major disappointment.

this 'new' quest log, is just old quest log with the pre-November quests hidden. They've not responded to any of the feedback/requests that people have given - ratios, ability to add heroes of the other players playing, option to link to other people's quest logs.

Pointless news article, as there's nothing new about it

That webapp works directly on iOS, so you don't really need an app. (The forums still doesn't work on iOS)

It's really wierd that you can only add three heroes regardless of how many players were in the game. I would like to log all heroes used by the different players.

I agree with both of you an app for my phone would be awesome especially if it had a way to keep track of threat and rounds on it a digital threat tracker!  Also I would like to see a win/loss ratio.  I record my losses anyways but it seems they just get lost in the abyss of the internet and my time entering the losses goes with it...oh well...

It would be really great if FFG would put up a win/loss ratio. Otherwise it seems kind of pointless to record losses. It would also help them know if their difficulty rating system was accurate

If this was an app I'd be very very very happy.
