Woe to those who stumble upon the tangled webs of the dark conspiracies this classic Asylum Pack reintroduces to the Living Card Game environment! The factions shall find themselves forever changed. Dark powers work in secret to advance their nefarious agendas while investigators delve into tangled nests of lies and corruption in order to find the truth.
Profit from chaos
Each of the six factions from the Core Set receives its own insidious conspiracy card in Conspiracies of Chaos. Each is tailored to the faction’s distinct methods of operation, and each makes a tremendous impact on the game when the conspiracy is won.
The Agency conspiracy allows government thugs to come out guns blazing. Miskatonic professors delve deeper into arcane lore and the terrifying secrets of old tomes. Syndicate enforcers disrupt opponents’ resources. Hastur’s minions drive their opponents insane. Cthulhu consumes. Shub-Niggurath spawns monsters. And Yog-Sothoth cultists work toward the completion of a terrible ritual…
The Ritual Conspiracy (Conspiracies of Chaos, 52) boosts Yog-Sothoth’s considerable deck destruction abilities. If the other factions fail to disrupt Yog-Sothoth’s vile rituals in time, they’ll lose the top 10 cards of their decks in one maddening moment. Paired with cards like Blackmoor Estate (Core Set, 114) and Terrors in the Dark (Secrets of Arkham, 49), The Ritual Conspiracy can help Yog players find new paths to victory. While other faction win stories more effectively than the legions of Yog-Sothoth, no faction outstrips Yog’s ability to discard an opponent’s deck, limiting the effectiveness of any combinations your opponent intended to play and potentially allowing you to win by decking him out.
Conspirators and their dark knowledge
Conspiracies of Chaos also features a number of cards with powerful abilities that can change the course of a game. A number of characters gain skills, icons, and powerful game text while there are conspiracy cards in play; events summon Ancient Ones from the depths and drag opponents’ characters to watery graves; and the dedicated research of powerful tomes can reveal shortcuts to winning stories.
Conspiracies of Chaos reintroduces classic chaos to Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game, updating 60 cards (3 copies each of 20 different cards) to fit within the current Living Card Game environment.
