Khazad-dûm transports you to the ancient realm of the Dwarves with 165 new cards (with three copies each of its player cards), including new scenarios, encounter sets, heroes, allies, attachments, and events.
Unravel an old mystery
It has been many years since the Dwarves last heard from Balin and his fledgling colony. Reports have ceased to flow of the great works they began. Now the heroes of Middle-earth must search for signs of them among the mines of Moria.
Khazad-dûm presents you with three thrilling scenarios set in the dark, underground tunnels of the legendary, abandoned Dwarven city. Along the way, your heroes will be challenged by treachery and enemies from all-new encounter sets, including swarms of Orcs, goblins, and cave-trolls.
Who will lead in the deadly dark?
Dwarves are little bothered by the dark, and Khazad-dûm provides a wealth of new player cards that enrich the Dwarven presence in The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game. As the story expands into Dwarven ruins, players gain the services of two new Dwarf heroes, as well as new Dwarf allies, attachments, and events. Fellowships without Dwarven heroes still benefit from new cards for each sphere of influence.
Tactics players get a welcome boost from Khazâd! Khazâd!, one of the new Dwarf-themed cards you’ll find in Khazad-dûm. Players may immediately recognize how hard this event will let Gimli strike while he’s armored in Citadel Plate, wounded, and armed with a Dwarven Axe, but Khazâd! Khazâd! works for any Dwarf character, not just a hero. Inspired to tremendous feats of strength in the ruins of their great Dwarven city, Dwarven allies like the Veteran Axehand become ferocious combatants.
Into the Misty Mountains
From Orcs and Trolls to Ringwraiths and Dragons, Middle-earth is a rich and expansive world, filled with fantastic and iconic creatures. As you venture into the ancient Dwarven realm of Khazad-dûm, you’ll enter a place in Middle-earth far removed from the settings and creatures represented by the Core Set encounter cards. Dark tunnels teem with goblins, and any wrong turn could send you plummeting through pits to find yourself confronted by older and fouler things than Orcs.
Therefore, in addition to expanding your existing game experience, Khazad-dûm introduces nine all-new encounter sets! These unique sets, when combined into encounter decks (as instructed by the rules), make up Khazad-dûm’s three included scenarios.
It’s also important to note that you will need these new encounter sets to play the scenarios of the subsequent Dwarrowdelf Cycle of Adventure Packs.
So while the Khazad-dûm expansion is an exciting addition in its own right, it’s also the first step in the game’s next engaging narrative. With it, you’ll have the option of bringing new regions to your gaming experience. Explore more of Middle-earth than ever before, from the forests of the Core Set and the Shadows of Mirkwood cycle, to the perilous caves and treacherous peaks of the Misty Mountains.

The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game is a cooperative card game that puts 1-2 players (or up to four with an additional Core Set) in control of the most powerful characters and artifacts of Middle-earth. Players will select heroes, gather allies, acquire artifacts, and coordinate their efforts to face Middle-earth’s most dangerous fiends. The Living Card Game format allows players to customize their gaming experience with monthly Adventure Pack expansions to the core game.

I hope the quests will have an easy (dl=2), medium (dl=4 or 5), and hard (dl=7) difficulty level. A quest slightly harder than the Passage through Mirkwood is ok. We already have APs with DLs 4-7. It doesn't have to be a killer scenario every single time.

Ok, THIS looks awesome...can't wait. I am also very impressed by many of the fans that already anticipated the first expansion to be Mines of Moria stuff even before the core set was out! Nice one ;-)
Oh heck yeah! The Balrog!!! "You know what they awoke in the darkness of KD, shadow and flame." I am so excited to see all the freaking awesome Dwarf cards in this set!! Bring on more axes and armor. :)

I... i just can't believe it. So much great stuff for a hardcore LotR fan.
This is extremely exciting. Getting new cards for deck building, a new landscape to adventure in, and the beginning of a new series. The sooner this comes out the better.
I'm way excited for this, mostly for the fact of more player cards!
