Rune Age is a unique deck-building game in which players choose a scenario that establishes the game’s victory conditions. With four included scenarios, Rune Age delivers several different obstacles to face while also establishing the players' allegiances. One scenario even pits the players against one another while another unites them against a common foe, creating a fully cooperative deck-building experience!
Rune Age places players in control of one of four distinct factions, giving them faction-specific Unit cards with which to build their decks. While the center of the table is populated with several shared card types (as determined by the scenario), each faction comes with its own barracks of Unit cards that provide specific benefits. These faction-specific Unit cards, combined with the Gold cards, Neutral Unit cards, and Tactics cards from the central card pools, ensure that players will have a wealth of options when fortifying their Home Realms. Discovering new synergies with each game is just scratching the surface of what Rune Age has to offer.

Best game at Gen Con period! I love the co op mode and how different each scenario plays! The Solo game is awesome too. This game makes us rethink what we know about deck building games.
I think what I really enjoy is that there are essentially 3 resources, giving more avenues for strategy and indeed the ways the developers can expand the game. Another significant addition is the idea that you can pay to keep cards from round to round, helping to eliminate luck of the draw and shortening game length. Our games play blisteringly fast; usually 20-30 minutes!

It's quite hard. And I've tried every faction a few times each...
This is a great game. It was my first purchase at Gencon, and my best. The four scenarios present four vastly different modes of play, and all of them are engaging (plus there's a randomized variant). It's almost like five games in one box.
