The Salzburg A Game of Thrones players invite you to once again share in a special experience. August 26th - 28th marks the 2011 Austrian Nationals for A Game of Thrones: The Card Game!
The Nationals will be supplemented with side events beginning on Friday and running until Sunday night. These events will be decided by the majority of the participants a few days before Nationals begin, but will most likely include a Draft, Legacy, a Melee or Kingsmoot Tournament, and a Hand of the King Tournament. Board games, such as A Game of Thrones: The Board Game will also be played. The Championship Tournament will be played on Saturday and will be Joust.
The entry fee for Nationals will depend on the number of players that attend, but will be in the range of 10-15 euros.
Head to the Gamers Farm in Austria to participate. Its address is: Wiener Bundesstrasse 33, 5300 Hallwang bei Salzburg, and a map is located to the right.
The artist Franz Miklis is rumored to be making an appearance and will present some of his latest, original paintings for A Game of Thrones: The Card Game.
Participants will be able to take advantage of the building’s private location, and play outside in a lovely garden (should the weather allow). There will also be a barbecue in the evening for players hungry after their battles.
Further, if any of the players attending desire to stay in Salzburg for free, they are invited to stay at the homes of the local players. Just be sure to bring your sleeping bag!
Prizes for the event include the Nationals Kit provided by Fantasy Flight Games, an original art piece by Franz Miklis, art prints, and more.

Yeah, what kind of permit would FFG need to acquire to install a patio and giant grill at the Event Center? And a full bar?
Ha ha, that's me on the picture! Must have been taken 4-5 years ago.
I *think* I even know that that game was against thorondor. Martell vs. Martell. He came first, played Scorpion's Sting and copied it, so I had to discard 4 (6?) cards before doing anything in the first round. Hurt even more since I had the same "combo" in hand, but couln't play it.
well, its not only a print, its an orginal artwork done by Franz Miklis. he is one of the few remaining artists who still work with oil/acryle & pencil & paper/linen.
If they had a barbecue at the FFG Events Center, I'd make even greater efforts to attend their Regionals! Also, love the art print as a prize. Good luck to all those who attend!
@anavasoothed: Franz is focused on locations/landscapes as Zordren mentioned like the "Hill" cycle, Dragonpit, Iron Mines, Lion's Gate etc. All the great locations and arts.
What are some examples of cards he's drawn?
Franz Miklis is definitely one of the top 3 artists for this game. His landscapes are excellent, not only in the artistic renderings, but in the "atmosphere" he captures. Wish I could be there! Good luck with the tournament to all!
