A preview for Mark of the Xenos, an upcoming Deathwatch supplement |
| Deathwatch | Published 21 April 2011 | Rating | 20 votes |

Greetings, Deathwatch fans!
This week, we take a look deeper into Mark of the Xenos, the upcoming supplement for Deathwatch. If you are just hearing about this amazing book, make sure to check out the overview as well as last time’s preview of the vicious Dagon Overlord!
A Space Marine’s Nightmare
Mark of the Xenos is filled with vile xenos and insidious adversaries for GMs to challenge their Kill-teams. This week’s preview features a particularly diabolical antagonist: Magos Phayzarus. Created by Andrea Gausman, this heretical Magos of Samech hungers for that which is most precious to the Space Marine: his Progenoid glands, holders of the chapter’s gene-seed. Phayzarus has re-forged his body into a twisted abomination of metal and flesh for the singular purpose of hunting Space Marines.
Magos Phayzarus is a great tool for GMs to strike fear into the hearts of even the fearless Space Marines. With cunning traps and plans, Phayzarus will do anything to feed his addiction, dissecting the Battle-Brothers he has bested and eating their precious Progenoid glands. Phayzarus is just one of the many treacherous adversaries found in Chapter II: Radicals and Heretics.
Read more about Magos Phayzarus (pdf, 1.1MB), available for download on the support page, and be prepared for his insidious traps!
Stay alert for your chance to study the enemy, and look for Mark of the Xenos in the second quarter of 2011!
Deathwatch is a roleplaying
game in which players take on the roles of the bio-engineered super-soldiers known as Space Marines. United with their battle-brothers, players will complete extraordinary missions involving some of the greatest heroes and deadliest opponents the Warhammer 40,000 universe has to offer.
Oh please publish proper rules for Necrons! We have a great GM, but he loves those boring killbots to a degree we would call disturbing! If he makes up stats himself there will be silliness of the order of undodgeable warscythes with infinite penetration that ignore/destroy relic weapon parries, gauss weapons that do unhealable damage (Thank Inquisitor Tabletop Battles for that silly precedent!) and more immunities than you can shake a daemon at.

as long as it has stats for all the xenoes i'll be happy to use it for my campaign. Also do you think flightfantasy might by any chance sell any specific minis of the heroes,,hard time getting some of them,..
what kind of protection do you think Phayzarus would have?
Will this book have stats for genestealers and Necrid and such? Will it be usable for the other 40K RPGs?
This heretek has lots of great quality, a smart enemy. I like that....
A good character to manipulate others into doing his dirty work. I don't think he would last very long in a straight up confrontation with a killteam--at least not with the way my team rolls righteous fury!
So far all of the previews have been for unique characters--I hope there are plenty of write ups for more generic critters too...
I fully approve of this preview and character. Nice to see a Deathwatch foe with some bite to them
Now thats a villain I can sink my teeth into!
Phayzarus! I love this guy. Cannot wait to use him (even bought the parts to make a miniature for him!).
BYE
I'm glad to see some more heretek enemies fleshed out and the Magos looks like a worthy opponent for a killteam. Though his energised talons are marked as having "Pen X". Is there a variable I'm missing or is this a misprint?
