A classic Asylum Pack for Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game returns
Call of Cthulhu LCG | Published 13 April 2011

“There are horrors beyond life’s edge that we do not suspect, and once in a while man’s evil prying calls them just within our range.”
-H.P. Lovecraft

Hauled forth from the depths of dusty and long-forgotten archives, a classic Asylum Pack for Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game returns to spread chaos; beware when Spawn of Madness emerges in the third quarter of 2011!

Spawn of Madness brings back to the Living Card Game environment this seminal Asylum Pack, now updated to the 60-card per pack format (3 copies each of 20 unique cards). The included cards are updated with rules text based on the most recent FAQ and Errata (pdf, 428KB), which can be downloaded from the support page.

In Spawn of Madness chaos explodes into Call of Cthulhu through a series of powerful events and support cards. The Sleeper Awakens! for the Cthulhu faction will clear the board of characters while Yog-Sothoth's Revelation of the Spheres will steal characters before opponents have a chance to play them. Madness, Disasters, Monsters, and Servitors lurk in Spawn of Madness!

Coming in the third quarter of 2011, Spawn of Madness returns. Be prepared when the madness is unleashed into Call of Cthulhu!

Based on the fiction of H.P. Lovecraft and his literary circle, Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game takes two players deep into the Cthulhu Mythos where investigators clash with the Ancient Ones and Elder Gods for the fate of the world. The Living Card Game format allows players to customize their gaming experience with monthly Asylum Pack expansions to the core game.

It'll be really interesting to see how they revised the cards. There were some extremely potent cards in these old APs!

I thinks it's awesome that these get rereleased for the LCG, if I only I hadn't bought the black-border versions recently :-(

Count me in as another very happy cultist !

I always loved this asylum pack and am glad FFG is reviving it in the new format.  Nothing quite beats the look on an opponent's face as you go through their deck to steal their best character... (Revelation of the Spheres.)

There certainly is enough in it I'd like to see back in the game!

Very cool! I was thinking of getting away from this, but now I can't, I guess...

Cards that were reprinted in the LCG that existed in the 4 ccg era asylum packs:

Torch the Joint

The Greatest fear

The bootleg Whisky cover-up

So it looks like there will be some new cards in those reprinted packs to make up for the space already taken in other LCG releases. That's my assumption anyways.

Very cool! In fact, this news being 'very cool' is a vast understatement.

Looks like my guess was right about some of the CCG era asylum packs getting reprinted... sneaky FFG renaming HorrorMadness cycle into Forgotten Lore... ;)
