A Game of Thrones LCG | Published 07 April 2011

Hello and Welcome Back, Loyal A Game of Thrones Fans!

A quick news update: Gates of the Citadel, the first Chapter Pack of the Secrets of Oldtown cycle of expansions, will be shipping very soon, so be sure to place your order with your local retailer.

Introducing the Chosen Few

First and foremost: a huge thanks to everyone who participated and sent in a deck to the contest. We hope you all had fun creating decks for this competition and enjoyed a chance to get creative with the restrictions we set. We had a lot of really interesting decks roll in and as such, it was really tough settling on the eight decks that we finally chose.

After drawing lots for Houses and making some difficult choices, we finally settled on the following eight decks. Ladies and Gentlemen, your Chosen Few:

House Baratheon:
Deck created by Jeff Lebow, staff proxy: Michael Hurley
Expansion Block: Brotherhood Without Banners

House Greyjoy:
Deck created by Kyle Szklenski, staff proxy: Jay Little
Expansion Block: Brotherhood Without Banners

House Lannister:
Deck created by Dan Strouhal, staff proxy: Damon Stone
Expansion Block: King's Landing

House Martell:
Deck created by Balan, staff proxy: Rob Kouba
Expansion Block: Defenders of the North

House Stark:
Deck created by Alberto Garcia, staff proxy: Nate French
Expansion Block: King's Landing

House Targaryen:
Deck created by Antti Korventausta, staff proxy: Jaffer Batica
Expansion Block: Defenders of the North

Neutral House #1:
Deck created by Joe Becker, staff proxy: Andrew Baussan
Expansion Block: King's Landing

Neutral House #2
Deck created by Giles Oth, staff proxy: Lukas Litzsinger
Expansion Block: A Time of Ravens

For those of you interested in checking out the details of these decks, maybe even hosting your own Chosen Few proxy tournament, you can visit the web page where we have posted the decklists of the Chosen Few.

Come back next week when we will post the creators' commentary and strategies for their decks, as well as the Staff proxies' commentary on why they chose the deck that they did. Stay tuned!

Based on George R.R. Uncle Joker, they had ruled that the Neutral Faction house card could be used in any block, not just the Brotherhood cycle, as they didn't want to limit neutral design to just one set of chapter packs.

Unless I misunderstand your statement.

Kudos to FFG for this. I have a big AGoT collection, but not a lot of time for thoughtful deckbuilding. Having access to eight decks that I can build and play with my friends is a huge boon.

Congrats deckbuilders! Your decks are the mighty steeds upon which the tiny, tight-pantsed jockeys at FFG will ride.

Why could they build the Neutral deck without Neutral House card?

It is definitely a joke.

Congratulations JJones!

I don't play AGoT but I think this is a very cool idea! Let's hope they'd do it for Warhammer Invasion as well.

Sweet! I really thought I had an unsual and strong build, and it got picked. Andrew, don't fail me now!
