To be Hunted... 31
Mark of the Xenos, a Deathwatch supplement, is coming this spring
Deathwatch | Published 18 February 2011

“The Deathwatch must remain ever vigilant against the xenos. The Enemy Within may tear at the Imperium’s heart, and the Enemy Beyond may threaten the Imperium’s soul, but the Enemy Without presents a unique danger; alien civilisations that stand in the way of the Imperium’s destiny to conquer the galaxy.”
      – Codicier Taelon, Deathwatch Librarian

The Enemies of the Emperor are many... Aliens, Heretics, and Daemons scheme from the shadows to oppose the Imperium of Man, but the Space Marines of the Deathwatch are sworn to hunt down and destroy all enemies of the Emperor. Remain vigilant! Learn the nature of your foes, that you might better destroy them.

Fantasy Flight Games is pleased to announce the upcoming release of Mark of the Xenos, a supplement for Deathwatch! Presenting a myriad of worthy challenges for any Space Marine (from the ravening Tyranid swarm to the sleek, technologically-advanced Tau, and many more), Mark of the Xenos is a bestiary of the monstrous enemies that lurk within the Jericho Reach and strike back against the forces of the Achilus Crusade.

A Handful Against Many

The Space Marines of the Deathwatch are legendary warriors, veterans of hundreds of battles, and heroes of the Imperium. Yet they are only a handful against the countless threats that lay siege to the Imperium, from within, without, and beyond. The Deathwatch was founded to eliminate alien civilisations inimical to human life, and the eradication of such xenos is their main purpose. Still, the Deathwatch never hesitates to engage the forces of heretics, daemons, or the Traitor Legions of Chaos Space Marines that emerge from the realms of Chaos, bent upon the destruction of man.

In the war-torn Jericho Reach, the Imperium struggles to re-conquer hundreds of lost, dark, and bitter worlds. The Achilus Crusade pushes ever-deeper into this region, facing horrific terrors on all fronts. Only the intervention of the Deathwatch Kill-teams can tip the balance, and Mark of the Xenos places vital knowledge of their enemies into the hands of those warriors best suited to destroy any challenge to the Emperor’s will.

Game Masters will find a host of new foes designed to challenge Kill-teams, and players will gain knowledge of these adversaries, as well as guidance and counsel from notable members of the Deathwatch on how best to exterminate each threat. Mark of the Xenos even features new advanced rules for battling hordes of creatures in massive engagements.

Keep checking back over the coming weeks as we preview this exciting supplement, and this spring, purge the vile alien from the stars with bolt, shell, and flame!

Deathwatch is a roleplaying game in which players take on the roles of the bio-engineered super-soldiers known as Space Marines. United with their battle-brothers, players will complete extraordinary missions involving some of the greatest heroes and deadliest opponents the Warhammer 40,000 universe has to offer.

I am very glad to see that FFG have listened to the feedback about the artwork on the cover of the Deathwatch core book and have given us several books in a row with fantastic artwork. Just hope the internal art is yet more repeated stuff.

It would be silly not to include Necrons. All major enemies should be covered.

Wow!  That 'Nid artwork reminds of Mark Silvestri's uncanny hand and The Darkness in style and colour.  Quite apt, really :)

Tequila: If we learend anything from The Emperor Protects, we may indeed see Necrons, they just wont be called Necrons. "Scary Metal Skeleton Man" perhaps.

Hoping for some Xenos that show up in the Expanse, so I can use this in Rogue Trader.

Ares Invictis -if The Emperor Protects is any indication than I do not think there will be any Necrons in this bestiary.
