A Warhammer: Invasion card of the week |
| Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game | Published 23 November 2010 | Rating | 18 votes |

The fearsome knights of the White Wolf are based in the northern city of Middenheim and follow the creed of Ulric, the god of battle, wolves, and winter. The White Wolves wear mantles of wolfskin over their armour and eschew the use of a lance, instead carrying mighty cavalry hammers to smash the skulls of their foes. They carry no shields and avoid the wearing of helmets, to better display their long hair and beards and howl their ferocious war cries. Devotees of the Cult of Ulric fight like a pack of wolves, and with a ferocity and prowess that’s admired across the Empire. What’s more, their unparalleled speed and coordination affords them amazing flexibility on the battlefield.
Welcome back to another Warhammer: Invasion card of the week spotlight! Bleeding Sun, the final Battle Pack in The Enemy Cycle, will be on store shelves in December. So far, we’ve previewed the horrific Dark Elf Hex Soul Stealer, the vile Beast of Rot, and one of it’s favorite inflictions, Necrotic Spasms. Today, let’s move on to an Empire card that may help swing the balance back toward Order: Warriors of Ulric.
If the defending army has the power of Ulric behind it, expect the unexpected; we’ve seen the truth of this before with the Empire tactic Ulric’s Fury. Similarly, Warriors of Ulric can deliver a nasty surprise to an attacking army by popping into a vulnerable zone just before defenders are declared! And since Warriors of Ulric bear the Knight trait, they’ll work well in future Knight-themed decks, providing synergy with cards like Higher Ground.
Bleeding Sun will bring the end of The Enemy Cycle, but the war between the forces of Order and Destruction is just beginning. Who will rise to dominance of the Old World? Keep checking back for more, and join us next time for another Warhammer: Invasion card of the week!
Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game is a card
game by Eric M. Lang in which 2 players develop their kingdoms and lay waste to their foes. Each side is comprised of either the forces of Order or the forces of Destruction as they seek to extend their empire to include the entire Old World. The Living Card Game format allows players to customize their gaming experience with monthly Battle Pack expansions to the core game.
@ Curator: Except it goes against the fluff of Warhammer. They aren't as polished as Reiksguard or Knights Panther, but Knights of the White Wolf aren't exactly barbarians. Further, Ulric's own symbol is a wolf or wolf's head and his domains are winter, battles and wolves. Bears don't come into it at all (might be a minor sideshow at best), Taal is more into bears (so to speak, he is the God of Nature).
Because bears are a symbol of strength. Look through images on barbarians they wear the skins of bears, lions, or dragons...
This isn't that hard to understand. Wolves are symbolic for agility. Bears are symbolic for strength. And the art is fine.
So, I see everybody think the same - the card is good but the art not. Why the are dresed in weasel/bear skins? I always thought Ulric is for wolfs! Now that's a huge misunderstanding!
Those are just Dwarfs with some fancy photography to make them look taller. I knew it! Next, the the orcs are going to get a great card.. a great unit that looks like a dwarf with bad teeth and painted green!
and the hammer looks like my cocktail shaker ;)
Ahhh it's a white wolve... no, wait... a brown bear... no is it a poodle ?
You don't wear the skins of the animal you hold sacred...a freakin' bear on the other hand....its a freaking bear!!
BTW they are wearing bear mantles ... sigh... Warhammer newbs....
You guys crack me up ^^
Also, they're supposed to be cavalry.
Knights of the White Wolf? Hm. dont know. Looks rather like Knights of the Brown Weasel :)
Looks like a Yao Guai to me.....
No its a puma they are wearing!
Funny article, assuming that Order needed a boost. LOL Good one. Also, despite the article, these guys are mostly wearing helmets and the wolf heads look more like Bear heads.
Useful card though..
