Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce the sixth and final Chapter Pack in the Brotherhood Without Banners cycle of expansions, Dreadfort Betrayal, for A Game of Thrones: The Card Game, coming this winter.

Roose Bolton, the Lord of the Dreadfort, over whose dark ramparts fly the terrifying standard of the flayed man, is one of House Stark's many bannermen, and certainly the most cunning. Those that stand against him and his elite warriors will be driven before their might. Those unfortunate enough to find themselves in a Dreadfort cell will find themselves under the Boltons' lash. With House Bolton standing with House Stark, the North is secure, but in the War of Five Kings, loyalties can flow like water off of melting ice.

In Dreadfort Betrayal, A Game of Thrones players will find three copies each of twenty never-before-seen cards that add new and interesting challenges and opportunities for deck building by deepening the ongoing themes of the Brotherhood Without Banners cycle for all six of the Great Houses of Westeros.

Dreadfort Betrayal expands on the House Bolton theme of shifting alliances and features Lord Bolton himself, his seat, The Dreadfort, and more of his Bolton loyalists. House Bolton characters can make powerful allies - characters with an efficient cost to STR and icons ratio - but they can also be difficult to hold on to. A skilled House Stark player will have to play carefully to keep them in line - and a skilled player of any House may find ways to bring the Bolton's over to their side.

The Boltons may be tenuous allies, but they are definitely deadly enemies. Let friends and foes alike tremble when the banner of the flayed man is raised!

 Great to see Roose and the Dreadfort getting LCG copies.  Now, what really makes a theme/lesser house deck work is even more uniques.  I really hope that we see new versions of Steelshanks Walton and The Weeping Water for sure (Fat Walda, a version of Jeyne Poole or Reek, and some kind of event/attachments like Frequent Leechings would also be welcome - but Steelshanks and Weeping Water are the real keys thematically).

Abandoned Fort qand the boltan deck are going to be fun to go up agaist. There not much but u still can give traits to people and then bounce them to owners hand. look there a red viper with 5 power on him and teast for blood i give him Dubious Loyalties  and he back in your hand. You can also use the plot that give non noble a trait.

 Of course you could probably just ditch all the fancy stuff and run a stark wildling deck packed to the brim with very strong, very cheap characters (many of which would have war crests, if you felt taking cards that work off that) backed up by starks powerful unique characters. Who cares about the drawbacks on flayed men or the bastard's elite when you have so much strength that your opponent can never win a challenge against you?

The Boltons are my favourite part of this chapter pack cycle so far. The Clansmen are a nice idea in theory but in practice will never be any good in a serious game, and all the other houses' cards are fun but don't really add that much that's new. For example giving targ more military power is interesting and all, but there are plenty of other strong military decks. 

But it looks like games involving the boltons will have a very different shape to anything that exists now, and they have the potential to affect the metagame quite heavily. House Stark have a lot of options now, that's for sure.

The impact on the present metagame isn't that significant.  There aren't enough ways of stealing characters - only Men with no King (Time of Ravens), Seductive Promise (Core set) and Dubious Loyalties (Brotherhood without Baners) are reliable ways of stealing characters.  Roose is mostly there, I think, to keep your Boltons in line (They do have a very nasty habit of defecting), but in a melee, can also be pretty potent if played with Winterfell Honour Guard.

..and vice versa: your opponent(s) also gets back what's "rightfully" his/hers (those characters who had momentary lapse of faith/loyalty).

It just means that if any of your characters are under an opponents control you get them back.
