A Warhammer: Invasion Card of the Week |
| Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game | Published 12 October 2010 | Rating | 23 votes |

Bright Wizard, masters of smoke and flame, are held above all other practitioners of Magic in battle. Theirs is one of the most spectacular and destructive Colleges of Magic. A Bright Wizard can wield flame like a sword, hurl fireballs, and raise searing walls of fire to burn his enemies. Such powers are incredibly destructive, and few ordinary folk would seek the assistance of a Bright Wizard, for wherever their powers are employed, ruin and devastation is sure to follow.
Welcome to another Warhammer: Invasion card of the week spotlight! March of the Damned, the exciting deluxe expansion that had a limited debut at GenCon 2010, is on store shelves. Meanwhile, the release of Redemption of a Mage, the fourth Battle Pack in The Enemy Cycle, draws ever nearer. Let’s take a look at another card making its way to tabletops soon.
From a thematic standpoint, Bright Wizards are a particularly dangerous group of magic users. Their explosive attacks are almost as likely to hurt themselves and their allies as they are to damage their enemies (the self-destructive Thyrus Gorman being a great example).
Enter Friedrich Hemmler, another Bright Wizard hero whose destructive attacks inflict damage on every unit involved in the battle. With a whopping five power icons, Friedrich is among the most powerful Empire units ever, making him a powerhouse in any zone. And since he deals one damage to all attacking and defending units, he’s the bane of low-cost attackers like Crooked Teef Goblins and Spider Riders.

Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game is a card
game by Eric M. Lang in which 2 players develop their kingdoms and lay waste to their foes. Each side is comprised of either the forces of Order or the forces of Destruction as they seek to extend their empire to include the entire Old World. The Living Card Game format allows players to customize their gaming experience with monthly Battle Pack expansions to the core game.
So is that uncancellable damage kind of like counterstrike, and would that lizardmen ability also mean return damage occurs prior to the rest of combat?
It wasn't too long ago Order players were crying foul (re: Destruction's Skaven rush)...and I'm sure Order players were not having much fun playing bolt thrower decks and/or Dwarves. LCG's Living part means constant change, and change is good in this case in my opinion, but it sure comes at a realistic (re: glacial) pace.
Remember: Other than the occasional Deluxe Expansions, LCG takes 6 month or more to make any drastic changes due to the nature of the monthly Battle Pack's release cycle. James has his hands full, but things will balance out eventually...have faith.
Destruction does indeed need a vast powerboost. I don't understand why FFG isn't trying to distribute things more evenly. Odd...
Oh, and Lizardmen like him too...
Completely agree with Wytefang and JayDe here... we get Empire boost while chaos is totally unplayable. "great".
but even not counting that : This hero is ridicolously owerpowered. 5 power andHP for 5 + an insane ability for free ?
At least Master rune of Spite, Call the Blood and Blood for the Blood God get rid of him fast.
anyone else notice cards are getting more and more powerful? Feels like the game is getting a little unstable as certain factions are kicking-ass and they just keep pumping up unit power and dropping cost...
This guy is going in an elf deck somewhere!
That guy is strong! Wow! But he's prey for the master rune of spite. Could be used in a Highelf healing deck maybe. Fine card!
According to FFG's Upcoming web-page, this is still on a boat somewhere, I wouldn't cross my fingers that we'll see it October. Probably more like early November. Sigh.
Wow, now that's a powerfull hero of the Empire! Amazing, can't wait for this battlepack - as far as I know it will hit stores in october! So I can't wait. :)
Nice. Now can we get something or some cards that might actually make Chaos viable for the first time since the game was released? ;) Thanks.
It's gonna be an hard choice..Friedrich or Willhelm..
