The Sea of Blood Ocean Map Board for Descent: Sea of Blood now on sale! |
| Descent: Journeys In The Dark | Published 30 August 2010 | Rating | 23 votes |
The seas of Torue Albes are filled with untold perils. Daggertooth Sharks and ferocious Krakens prowl the murky depths, hoping to pull unwary sailors into a watery grave. Above the waves, terrifying ghost ships manned by the undead and massive brigantines commanded by beastmen lay claim to all they see. Only the bravest of heroes dare venture beyond sight of the shore.
Fantasy Flight Games is pleased to announce an exciting new product now available for the Descent: Sea of Blood expansion. For players looking to enhance their voyages in the waters of Torue Albes, your ship has come in.
Now you can master the waves in style with the Sea of Blood Ocean Map Board! With a beautifully rendered island on one side and open ocean on the other, this double-sided, folding tactical map board replaces the Ocean Poster Map from the Descent: Sea of Blood expansion. Its sturdy cardboard lays perfectly flat when you’re playing and stores away easily when you’re done. Head to your friendly local retailer and pick up your copy today, or head to our webstore!
Whether you’re the vile Overlord, planning the demise of the The Revenge, or the intrepid sailors battling to foil his plot, the Sea of Blood Ocean Map Board will bring you and your crew smooth sailing. Simply swap out the poster map included in Descent: Sea of Blood, fold out this new board, and get ready for high-sea adventure!
Descent: Journeys in the Dark is a tactical
board game for 2-5 players that takes a party of adventurers deep into the dungeons of Terrinoth for adventure, treasure, and glory. But beware! The Overlord and his minions stand poised to oppose any heroes foolhardy enough to enter the dungeon.
Been out and got it today.
Now, about that hew expansion..... (pretty please).
Nice to have this available. I think I'll pick it up eventually to use with other games and RPG's!
I bought it. Didn't even realize it was on the shelfs yet, but last Friday I saw it at Hastur Games in SLC and couldn't help myself (I'm a completest :P). It's... meh. About the same really. Guess about what I expected though ;)

I agree with CanadianPittbull.
Games are a luxury on their own and this thing is just a luxury for a luxury. No one needs (or is forced) to buy it. If you like it, you buy: it's just like that.
On the other hand, I also agree with slaphead6. I'm waiting for some new expansion for my favourite board game!
Well I'm going to get it. I've used the paper map for a while now and it is holding up quite well, but I can see that at some point it will start to wear so the board seems a good idea to me.
Now all I want is news of a new expansion - vanilla or campaign don't mind which, just want something Descent flavoured to look forward to.
Don't understand how this is such an issue? Those who want to upgrade their map due to them playing the game quite a lot and finding it beginning to wear. This is also an option for die hard players/collectors. It's optional and not needed. And before folks start saying this should have been put in the box think of the cost and the final price point would have been more than most on here would have paid for it and you would have complained about that.
So buy it or don't it just don't sit here and complain about it.
Money cow? Its optional is it not? You have a board already? This is for the people who prefer a better board.
Don't think it really matters, Get it don't get it. Hardly milking unless you can control ya need to own FF games.
yes it did, thats why i bought 3' x 4' inch girdded grpah paper an painted my own ship landings....
And the money cow got milked again!
