The Deathwatch Collector's Edition Unveiled! 47
A few quick photos, taken from our booth at Gen Con
Deathwatch | Published 08 August 2010

Although all who had attended Gen Con Indy 2010 on Friday have already had an opportunity to view this magnificent relic on display, in person, today we are glad to show you a few pictures taken directly from the booth.

These images were shot from the show floor, and the lighting is not anywhere near studio quality. However, we are so excited to share this awesome edition of Deathwatch with you, even though they were shot on-site, documentary-style.

Hope you enjoy…

 – The Emperor Protects!

Deathwatch is a roleplaying game in which players take on the roles of the bio-engineered super-soldiers known as Space Marines. United with their battle-brothers, players will complete extraordinary missions involving some of the greatest heroes and deadliest opponents the Warhammer 40,000 universe has to offer.

I was at Gen Con. I waited 1 hour 40 minutes to get my copy of Deathwatch and the GM kit. It was a long wait but worth it! The final product is a masterpiece of 40k RPG awesomeness....now I just have to get a group together to play it.

 @Brother Chaplain Magister:

They DID release it at Gen-Con! A friend of mine got it there, he said it was the longest queue of the entire convention. The apparently only had one pallet of the regular Deathwatch rulebook. The Limited Edition was apparently on display but not yet for sale.

No idea when they will start selling the book through the website though...

It still looks awesome. If I had saved up more of my money I'd pay for it. No doubt there'll be some more cool stuff with/in it.

It's a little hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like the 'wax' seals holding on to the 'parchment' inside the box are three dimensional. Meaning they're kinda like the seals from the Rogue Trader CE Warrant of Trade.

Well I have to say I'm a little disappointed. I really like the design of it, but it just seems overly plain.  It lacks color, and nothing beyond the key really seems to stand out.  Some brass and crimson, or the dark green of the Deathwatch could have really given it some presence.

Jikes, that's a big tome! I would be interested but I'm afraid the price will scare me off. Though I do like the collectors editions for me it's mostly about actually being able to play the game and with such a package I would be too afraid to damage it to actually play with it. I know it's a bit stupid but I can't help it. Have pre-ordered the book itself though :D

 @delta13: for me its not clear which state is this is in! On the product main page, its says: "shipping now" (7-10 days) while on the catalog page is says: "on the boat" (6-8 weeks). As the 7-10 day period already passed and the book is still not out, it seems we have to wait a few more days (weeks).

I was hoping, that they going to release it at GenCon.
