Familiar Faces Are Coming to Arkham 46
Announcing the upcoming release of Arkham Horror Investigator Figures
Arkham Horror Investigators | Published 31 July 2010

Now he was praying because the Witches' Sabbath was drawing near. May Eve was Walpurgis Night, when hell's blackest evil roamed the earth and all the slaves of Satan gathered for nameless rites and deeds. It was always a very bad time in Arkham, even though the fine folks up in Miskatonic Avenue and High and Saltonstall Streets pretended to know nothing about it. There would be bad doings, and a child or two would probably be missing.
-H.P. Lovecraft, Dreams in the Witch-House

In the small Massachusetts town of Arkham, mysterious strangers lurk in the streets, dangerous cultists plot to awaken the Ancient Ones, portals to other dimensions release hideous creatures that bring horror and madness into this world... and only a handful of brave investigators stand before the dread of the unknown.

Fantasy Flight Games is pleased to announce the upcoming release of premium pre-painted miniatures for Arkham Horror, a board game of mystery and madness based on the terrifying literature of master horror writer H.P. Lovecraft. In Arkham Horror, 1-8 players cooperate to investigate the strange happenings about the town, and race to prevent ancient evil from surfacing.

Now, you can immerse yourself even further into the story with a hand-painted miniature of your favorite Arkham Horror character!

These figures, which are made to replace the investigator markers included with Arkham Horror, let you explore the eldritch terrors of Arkham in style. Each investigator miniature is hand-painted, providing enhancement and a new visual impact to your game. Head to our product list to check out the full line of miniatures, or come see the whole lineup at GEN CON!

Note to Retailers: Due to the manufacturing costs of these figures, we are unable to offer this Fantasy Flight Collector product through normal distribution channels. Despite the financial challenge involved, retailers still wishing to carry this product should contact our sales department for more information.

Premium Arkham Horror Investigator miniatures bring your favorite Lovecraftian heroes to vivid life. Each pack includes one pre-painted figure to replace the investigator marker included with the Arkham Horror board game. Enhance your game and rise up against the Ancient Ones in style!

Sold!  Can't wait to add all of these to my AH collection.  As a miniature fan boy, these will definitely help spice u the table.    Great job FFG!

I agree- having the monsters would be delicious.

Any chance of some love for Descent?  I am not a painter, and using white, gray and red figures, gets tedious.  I am slowly (very slowly) putting together Dwarven Forge pieces to give some atmosphere, but I would like to give at least the heros some personality.

Figures in general- it would be nice if they were included, painted, in expansions.  Might cost $10 more, but I think it would benefit morale and dedication to the game.  The inclusion of cool figures in expansions, might drive people to buy the figures they don't have, so all of their figures are impressive.  They might even be included in future prints of the base, driving more original sales, plus the sales to the people who already have the base, though without cool figures.

I expect my ideas to be taken to heart, and rely on FFG to fully produce and implement them all, by, say... Tuesday.  :)

I will definitely be buying ALL of these!  With all of the expansion boards and playing in a low-light setting, the stand-ups are difficult to find and identify.  Now, with these miniatures, that will be a problem of the past AND it just makes the game look a lot cooler on the table!

Here is the proper way I think to market these FFG.

If done this way I would totally buy them.

Sell them in bundles based on the supplement.

Generously have each model include their investigator sheet.

You could have 2 big boxes of figs plus investigator sheets for the Base and Innsmouth or you can break them up into two sets with 8 figs and their sheets in a set.

This means for all the dunnwich figs and their character sheets (just in case buyer only wants the investigators) they would be paying about 25 bucks, say $24.99. That is a very fair deal for 8 figs. Also selling them bundled cuts cost for production and for the customer. Most importantly doing that way mentioned above, you would be able to sell to retail stores.

Not everyone that bought Arkham Horror say 3 years ago checks out this site, but most still visit the retail stores....just saying.

Me personally, I don't like having miniatures. I think it does a disservice to the artist hard work  and thought process that went into the style to used to help define the character. So, I will be using the stand ups. Sorry.

(lol)  I'm def picking up these minis!*

*[I know there are a lot of investigators, but you can just start collecting your fav ones first then slowly filling in the rest.]

Thanks for bringing them back- at half the price. I imagine it's because they're direct sale and there isn't any retail markup on them.

My credit card is waiting...

A much better price point. Looks like I will be buying all of these.

Now if only FFG would do minis of the monsters as well. Not only for Arkham Horror players, but also for all the D&D miniatures collectors who would love to have Cthuhlu/Lovecraftian/Horror minis in their D&D games.
