"Pray, who were those men I saw here a moment ago? Roose Bolton, Rickard Karstark, Galbart and Robett Glover, the Greatjon, Heiman Tallhart...you might have given the command to any of them. Gods be good, you might even have sent Theon, though he would not be my choice."
"They are not Starks,” he said.
-George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones
Before you take command in battle for yourself, you must practice and prepare. The rules for Battles of Westeros (PDF, 5.3 MB) are now on the support page!
Set in the rich and vibrant world of George R.R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire series, Battles of Westeros is a board game of tactical battlefield combat for two players. With scenarios that include beloved characters and settings, players can recreate the most significant battles from The War of the Five Kings.
BTW, noticed some errors with the numbering of Phases in the 'Playing the Game' section.
Awesome! Gonna read it right away. Thanks FFG!
Looks really good-no obvious questions after the 1st read through, can't wait till my preorder arrives.
Interesting they kept all units at full strength until the last fig is removed,.I understand the concept but it just seems wrong to have a 1 fig unit with the same ability as a 4 fig unit.I solved this personal problem with BL & the other C&C games by using 10mm or 6mm figure strands & hit point markers.Same thing but visually it just works better for me.
The Westeros figs are a definite paint project ........Good Job FFG
The rules for fighting skirmishes rather than fixed scenarios are great the skirmish summary cards and rather simple setup instructions will give this game a lot of replay value it appears...
This should be a good read; will be interesting to see FFG's own take on the BL system.
Wooooooo!
WOOOOOOOOO!
Sweeeet! I was hoping this would post today for a weekend read. Also I see the status is now in the 'shipping' phase!
