Savage warriors, the Lizardmen of the jungles of Lustria are vigilant in their fight to restore order to the world, but their enigmatic motivations make them uncertain and often dangerous allies. Meanwhile, the Vampire Counts, from their gods-forsaken castles and fortresses, lust after the power of the mortal races. It is this willful ambition that gives them their power over the dead, and those armies of Order that refuse to surrender to the Vampire Counts in life may come to serve them as mindless slaves in death.

Fantasy Flight Games is pleased to announce the upcoming release of March of the Damned, the next deluxe expansion for Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game! March of the Damned will bring new strategic depth to your deck-building experience when it hits store shelves this fall.

With 165 cards (3 copies each of 55 cards) consisting of new deck-building options for players of all factions, March of the Damned brings, as neutral forces, the mysterious danger of the jungle-dwelling Lizardmen and the foul dark arts of the Vampire Counts to Warhammer: Invasion. March of the Damned also introduces two new keywords, “Savage” and “Necromancy,” bringing a new level of strategy to your game.

“Savage” represents the single-minded vigilance of the Lizardmen, as they risk their very lives to restore order to the Old World. For the Vampire Counts, “Necromancy” is a vile power that lets them bring vanquished units back from the dead. When these two forces join the battle for the fate of the Old World, it will mean entirely new perils for six major factions.

Check out our detailed website for more information, including a short interview with James Hata in which he describes some his development goals. Then keep watching over the coming weeks as we preview cards from this exciting new expansion. This fall, the savage forces of the Lizardmen face off against the undead hordes of the Vampire Counts. Which side will you command?

Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game is a card game by Eric M. Lang in which 2 players develop their kingdoms and lay waste to their foes. Each side is comprised of either the forces of Order or the forces of Destruction as they seek to extend their empire to include the entire Old World. The Living Card Game format allows players to customize their gaming experience with monthly Battle Pack expansions to the core game.

From a design standpoint, I see why they aren't making capital boards for everyone. If they were going to give each new faction a Capital board, they would infer that each of those factions deserves a full slate of tactics and support cards for themselves. Most skaven get their utility cards from DE or Chaos and they work great. I think it actually adds to deckbuilding options because players won't be trying to build a 'skaven only' they are free to choose the set of tactics they wish to use and with a few solid alliance choices, could be playing tactics from several of their destruction friends. While I would like to see more 'stand alone' factions, I like the idea of breaking down the lizardmen and deciding which set of tactics would work best for them. I can't wait!

I totally agree with 'biotronik'.  An undead faction would be awesome.

it's sort of disappointing to find out that the next deluxe expansion won't have new factions.  does this mean that new factions won't be seeing action til 2011? that's sad.

I thought the new system of each card three types was only meant for battlepacks. Awesome that you handle it the same way with expansions! =D =D =D

Looking forward to that!

Vampire Counts! Necromancy! Neutral!

These three things did go through my mind when I saw them. And when I get this box, I will build a bloodthirster undead deck.

Good news indeed.

While I'm not heavily interested in Lizardmen and especially Vampire counts but new deckbuilding options are welcome. The new keyword abilities seems promising.

Wow, great news - the best I heared today! I thank - a couple weeks ago I wrote in the topic about new armies that there could be a Vampire army (I don't remember saying anything about Lizardman). Ha, ha, ha I'm so glad I'm seeing them in a deluxe expansion for Warhammer:Invasion. :D

Can't wait for the release!
