The List of Call of Cthulhu Events at Gen Con Indy 2010

Gen Con Indy 2010, the best four days in gaming, will soon begin in Indianapolis, Indiana! Fantasy Flight Games is excited to offer an entire weekend's worth of events for Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game. Ancient, nameless horrors dwell in the darkness, writhing in the night sky, under the earth, and in our very dreams. Madness and terror abound in the weird world of H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos. If you dare to risk your sanity, we have an event for you – regardless of your level of experience! Keep reading for detailed descriptions of all of the official FFG events.

Below you will find descriptions of all of the official FFG-sponsored Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game events. To register for events, you will need a Gen Con account. Follow this link to create a new account.

3-on-3 Team Event
10:00AM Thursday, August 5th

Introducing a new alternate play format for Call of Cthulhu: Team Play! Form a three-player team and compete against other teams for ultimate victory in this exciting new format. Multiple Swiss rounds will be played and will then cut to a top tier (the number depending on attendance) with one team claiming first prize and the tournament championship.
The event starts at 11:00AM. Registration begins at 10:00AM, please report to the TO early if you are planning on participating in this tournament, as any player not registered once the tournament has begun will not be able to compete in the event. If you do not have a team at the time of registration for the tournament, we will do our best to match you with a team on-site (no guarantees).

Gen Con 2010 League
Ongoing. Orientation starts at 2:00PM Thursday, August 5th

Meet other Call of Cthulhu players and compete in this casual, weekend-long league. At this orientation, you will receive exclusive league tokens, a league ribbon identifying you as a player, and a souvenir achievements booklet, as well as a briefing on the rules of the league. Play against other league members at any time during the Gen Con weekend and meet back at 12:00PM on Sunday, August 8th, for awards and prizes for those players who do the best during the league. A great way to get lots of games played at Gen Con.
For those players participating in the 3-on-3 Team Event there will be a break during the tournament to allow you to participate in this league orientation.

World Championship
10:00AM Friday, August 6th

Compete against other Call of Cthulhu players and claim the World Championship at this exciting event! Multiple Swiss rounds will be played and will then cut to a top tier (the number depending on attendance) with one player claiming the title of 2010 World Champion, as well as exclusive trophies and prizes!
The event starts at 11:00AM. Registration begins at 10:00AM, please report to the TO early if you are planning on participating in this tournament, as any player not registered once the tournament has begun will not be able to compete in the event.

Conspiracy Tournament
10:00AM Saturday, August 7th

Introducing a new alternate play format for Call of Cthulhu: The Conspiracy Tournament! We will post the list of Conspiracies that will form the Conspiracy Deck in the weeks preceding Gen Con. In this event, the Story Deck will be entirely replaced by a Conspiracy Deck, which we will provide. Build your deck accordingly! Multiple Swiss rounds will be played and will then cut to a top tier (the number depending on attendance) for the tournament championship.
The event starts at 11:00AM. Registration begins at 10:00AM, please report to the TO early if you are planning on participating in this tournament, as any player not registered once the tournament has begun will not be able to compete in the event.

Highlander Event
10:00AM Sunday, August 8th

There can be only one! In this alternate play format, you must construct your deck carefully as you can only have one copy of each card in your deck. You will need to make difficult resourcing decisions in each turn of the game - choose wisely! Multiple Swiss rounds will be played and will then cut to a top tier (the number depending on attendance) for the tournament championship.
The event starts at 11:00AM. Registration begins at 10:00AM, please report to the TO early if you are planning on participating in this tournament, as any player not registered once the tournament has begun will not be able to compete in the event.

Based on the fiction of H.P. Lovecraft and his literary circle, Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game takes two players deep into the Cthulhu Mythos where investigators clash with the Ancient Ones and Elder Gods for the fate of the world. The Living Card Game format allows players to customize their gaming experience with monthly Asylum Pack expansions to the core game.

The events look interesting. I'll be there for the championship.

What about the league play event that's mentioned in the GenCon catalogue? Is it still on?
