Dark clouds are spilling over the horizon, announcing the arrival of a terrible storm. Your adventure begins here...
The Gathering Storm is a complete campaign for Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. The story centres around a series of bizarre events that bring the heroes face-to-face with dangerous enemies, moral dilemmas, and the raw fury of nature.
In addition to providing many sessions of exciting adventure, the campaign guide provides detailed information on the town of Stromdorf and a number of its odd citizens. Colourful maps bring Stromdorf and the surrounding region to life.
The Gathering Storm includes one full colour Campaign Book, more than 20 new Standard American (2 1/4" x 3 1/2") size cards (including actions, locations, and items), more than 20 new Mini American (1 5/8" x 2 1/2") size cards (including miscasts, wounds, talents, and insanities), six full colour maps & player handouts, more than 20 new NPC and enemy standups… and much more!
The Gathering Storm has it all. Death. Misery. Peril. Suffering. Disaster. And that’s just the weather.
Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay is a roleplaying game that sets unlikely heroes on the road to perilous adventure, in the grim setting of Games Workshop's Warhammer Fantasy world. Players will venture into the dark corners of the Empire, guided by luck and Fate, and challenge the threats that others cannot or will not face.
I got my copy about 2 weeks ago, and, as usual, I'm very impressed with the product. Slick, heavy, and amazingly colorful.
The adventure itself keeps the continuing feel of the Old World and the morbid darkness of the Warhammer World. The push of time/motivation to keep the adventure moving is clever and subtle at first, but cunning players will eventually figure it out and begin to realize just how bad things are getting, and provides a motivation structure while still allowing the PC to investigate the circumstances of Stromdorf without locking them into a set path of the typical adventure supplement. Pursuing path C before path A or path B is completely possible.
The additional content cards (new actions, items, locations, miscasts, wounds, insanities, etc.), stand ups, and tokens are a welcome addition. (Hint to FFG: How about a stand alone standups release so we can truly run hordes of goblins, beastmen, NPC's etc.)
The Gather Storm is a great follow up adventure to the An Eye for an Eye short in the Tome of Adventure. I'd strongly advise adding it to your WFRP collection.
Great! Just in time for me as I'm finishing my Descent campaigns, so I'll have a bit of time to prepare this one ro run it with my friends.
Cool. I really want this.
What's the page count? I hope its at least 96 pages, being the length of the individual parts of the Paths of the Damned.
Man, this has taken forever! I still don't see it in my FLGS.
So it will be in Europe next week I hope?
Thanks Scimon, so I'm hoping that my FLGS will have it next week - maybe manday - let's hope so. :)
ffgfan, my local games shop (in Edinburgh) got copies of both this and the GMs Scren in today so hopefully you shouldn't have to wait to long.
I've got to wait for Saturday.
Finally, I was waiting months for this one. So I hope I will get my copy befor April end (Europe is allways the last one how has it ;( ). Maybe the next week it will be in my FLGS.
