"Words. Words are wind. Why do you think I abandoned Dragonstone and sailed to the Wall, Lord Snow?"
"I am no lord, sire. You came because we sent for you, I hope. Though I could not say why you took so long about it,"
Surprisingly, Stannis smiled at that. "You're bold enough to be a Stark. Yes, I should have come sooner. If not for my Hand, I might not have come at all. Lord Seaworth is a man of humble birth, but he reminded me of my duty, when all I could think of was my rights. I had the cart before the horse, Davos said. I was trying to win the throne to save the kingdom, when I should have been trying to save the kingdom to win the throne." Stannis pointed north. "There is where I'll find the foe that I was born to fight."
-from A Storm of Swords by George R. R. Martin

yeah, there are only two wildlings whose name's i remember, lord of bones, and ygrit 9i don't count mance and craster as wildlings...dunno). I've never reread any of the books, and i don't 'follow' GRRM online so w/ a name like that dude slipped into obsecurity for me
This Cycle is my "dreaming" one!
Hmm, the quotation/description for this chapter is a bit more book spoilage than you usually see in the game. Varamyr is the one you've never heard of? He was a fairly prominent Wildling in A Clash of Kings/A Storm of Swords. Also, it has already been revealed that the prologue to A Dance with Dragons is told from Varamyr's perspective (assuming it's ever published).
I hope the new Stannis is cool (I like the Core Set version a lot) and that there are indeed some Others in the pack. I like Margaery's (misspelled in the announcement) character so it's cool to see a new version, but I agree that considering the north theme and the fact that Baratheon isn't exactly hurting for characters with connections to the north it seems an odd choice.
Could also mean a Winter Stannis
Wow. Yes, Thuggish Tactics will give it Intimidate. And the Salt Wife can save it.
I'm willing to bet the new Margery will not be Shadows dependent. And Varamyr Sixskins is a warg/skinchanger like Bran. Perhaps we'll see some sort of character control, or perhaps creature based since that was all Varamyr could control in the books.
And based on the artwork, looks like this set will see a new Stannis as well. Perhaps he'll synergize with the Night's Watch.
wow.....thats a mill card! there is an event that gives intimidate, right?
also, like that we get an LCG Osha, a character i've never heard of and maybe another Mance? but did we really need a second margery?
do i smell some Others?
