The Seas Grow More Perilous 9
Announcing three detailed miniatures for Descent's Sea of Blood expansion
Descent: Journeys In The Dark | Published 18 December 2009

The distant shores of Torue Albes run red – a new overlord has emerged to lay siege to the free cities of the island kingdom. However, a band of heroes have rediscovered a legendary ship that may be the turning point in the battles to come!

And now a new terror enters the field of battle! Fantasy Flight Games is pleased to announce the first three metal lieutenant miniatures for the Sea of Blood expansion to Descent: Journeys in the Dark! These detailed sculpts by Cipher Studios, the creators of Anima Tactics, will bring a new dimension to your Sea of Blood campaign.

The keening song of the Siren can tempt even the staunchest sailors overboard, beckoning them to join her skeletal companions for the rest of eternity. Beautiful and dangerous, the Siren can lure the heroes to a watery death... unless they resist her charms. Her stunning metal miniature will lure you to your friendly local game store soon!

The Kraken is a mythic denizen of the deep said to lay awake at the bottom of the deepest waters. Unwary sailors foolish enough to disturb the waters nearby will quickly be met with five massive tentacles, sprouting up from the murky depths. Each tentacle seems to have a mind of its own, and they grapple and pull their prey toward piercing and poisonous teeth. Worse yet, the beast and its groping tentacles seem to have skin of iron, and even when wounds are inflicted, they heal with supernatural speed!

Sweetheart, a crocodilian behemoth who is always ready for the hunt, will likewise be ready to join your collection of Descent metal miniatures this spring. Some say her name comes from her desire to “hug” everyone she meets, but when Sweetheart catches unwary heroes in her crushing grip, they soon learn that there’s little affection to be found there - although she can only grapple one hero at a time, attacks against that hero are all considered aimed! This, along with and ironlike hide, massive reach, and piercing bite, make this “sweetheart” a costly date.

Be ready to step up your game when these detailed metal miniatures sail into stores this spring!

Descent: Journeys in the Dark is a tactical board game for 2-5 players that takes a party of adventurers deep into the dungeons of Terrinoth for adventure, treasure, and glory. But beware! The Overlord and his minions stand poised to oppose any heroes foolhardy enough to enter the dungeon.

So... the Kraken will be the big one, right.  With all it's BEAUTIFUL tentacles also cast in metal?  I dearly hope that's the case!  It would be such a nifty figure to have!!

Cool! But I'd also love to see this monsters and all of the LTs cast in the same material as the figures in the game.
