So excited with this new City exp I think it is far better that 2nd ed which was too complicated. This time every locations looks very useful and there are plenty of very interesting items to buy. Game will be less random and you can use lots of strategies. One of absolutely must have object is Spellbook - by taking one spell every turn you can be as powerful as Warlock or Wizard! When Troll is too strong in battle you can catch him in psychic combat buying Crystal Sceptre and then use Wart or Vial Of Poison… Gold will be more important than ever!

Hey Croonos,
I am also excited:)
You can also combine the spell book with the glitter follower.
And how about the great axe with + 3 strength, the magic ring, and a full armour:) That's + 5 strength in battle :D
Gold is indeed more important than ever :D
There is also a academy, where you can discard 7 points of trophies to increase one strength or craft. It;s the same as the djinn character.
And alignment does not have to become a problem anymore for characters, because they have 100% chance to change to the alignment what they want in the city :D

Looks like The Sacred Pool just got a bit unnecessary. I mean a Stable deck in the City, plus Neutral alignment cards…
I think that depends on how much the Stable cards cost in the City. Personally I'd like to see them a little more expensive than those from the Livery Stable.
Very good idea. Markup is always higher in the big city! :)
Why… are these boards… so… slooooooow?
I am looking forward to the next preview about the characters.
Excitement abounds! I am quite frenzied, sorta, myself. I note that "its on the boat". So who thinks we'll see it by the end of January?
I get the impression that the bounty lists are large. I wonder what kind of "new" enemies will appear in the City. The Giant Fly is disgustingly awesome! Will there be City versions of vampires, werewolves, ghosts? Will there be 'Sewer' places with alligators or worse roaming them?
I've decided to get some extra 'gold' tokens, to use as 5 value gold-pieces. I'll also be considering the space requirements for the table we currently use.
Soon! Soon…

I'm also pretty excited about this one… I've played most of the expansions, but only own the main game, think that may change shortly. :)

I can barely contain myself. In reality I have no one to talk to about this; my wife, a casual player, is pretty much saying "I can wait til it comes, please don't bother me about this".
I even told her about the Cat Burgler, because I thought she would get excited, but no go. she will play it, of course.
Having said all that, since we play with all expansions and some modifications, it will be cool how it all works out.

I like the Cat Burglar and the Tavern Maid. But not the spy..
The Spy is not the type character that i want, if i look to this abilities.
I am looking at the cat burglar card, and it seems that she can only use her first ability when there are 2 or more cards on the space.
But you can't use it when you must draw the cards..:(

Nope. Encountering the cards on a space naturally includes those you draw from the space. Remember, you encounter the instructions to draw cards on a space before encountering the cards on a space. To interpret it any other way would be an unnecessary nerf of her ability.

It may be as you say, but I believe you shouldn't read the ability that way. It doesn't mention the keyword faceup, it says when you encounter a space with 2 or more cards.
Usually I draw cards and encounter them immediately, but as per Rulebook page 7:
Adventure Cards
Most of the spaces on the Talisman board instruct players
to draw one or more Adventure Cards. When drawn, Adventure
Cards are taken from the top of the Adventure deck and
placed, faceup, in the space where they are encountered.
I suppose you may use it on any 2-3 draw card space when you draw cards, otherwise they should have used the word faceup.
It's especially useful when there's a difficult Enemy that guards some goodies.
A wizard is never too late. Nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.
Cards on a space are almost always face-up, by definition. The only exceptions I can think of are spell cards attached to an object or follower, and those don't count as cards you can encounter anyways, as it is the cards they are attached to you must encounter. To use the word "face-up" in that ability is simply unnecessary. =P

I think you are right.
The Cat burglar is better if she can use her ability this way.
I just got the wrong idea about it.
