Has a couple of limitations but it's not as bad as some of the front-page posters are making it out to be, imho (sorry, Clamatius, we'll have to agree to disagree on this one):
1. It won't see competitive play at all while the current Rush environment is allowed to reek vengeance on tournaments.
2. Gifts of Aenerion is a huge foe of this card.
Still, it's going to be crazy fun for casual games with friends (which is how most of us play the game, really).
I didn't say it wasn't fun, I just think it's pretty terrible from a competitive standpoint. Not even close to taking the mantle of worst-card-ever from Repair the Waystones.
I am not sure why they went with the "play at beginning of turn" text for the epic spells. Having a ruinously high cost would seem to be a big enough drawback. I guess maybe they are worried about infinite combo decks at some point in the future?
I'd say that's probably the reason for the Beginning of the Turn playing limitation. Makes sense.
I hope in the future ffg will support other high-elf-strategies besides indirect dmg. But really nice card for sure.

So that thing deals 8 damage when it attacks. That seems really good and just the finisher that High Elves need. It is still about 4 months away though so hopefully one of the battlepacks before that gives the high elves more power.

Great potential. I really like "instant" play units
Game geek since 1990
Since I've been looking pretty heavily at Empire lately, I've got to say that I really like the Legionnaires quite a lot. I'm a fan of characters that can jump into play at times other than the normal phase, so this is right up my alley. The addition of Counterstrike makes this a usable version of the Nordland Halberdiers.
Question though, if I have defend the Empire in play, could I jump the Legionnaires into play directly on the quest and then defend anywhere?
Yep, I don't see why you couldn't play the Legionnaires onto the quest. You're playing it from your hand and that's the restriction on getting units onto quests.
Brilliant! That sounds like a very good plan to me then.
braying gor seems to be very strong, i see an upsurge is bug chaos creature decks running 3 of those
Chaos is in ascendance
