I think that the small box expansions must keep going on.

Agreed, but do you think they should keen on adding extra mechanic to the game or only new character, adventure and spell cards

Hello Old Master,

I think that new mechanics can make the game interesting, so FFG can always try to add some new ones to the game.

I want at least some retro characters back, adventure cards and alternative endings.

I like to see more events, places and traps for the dungeon, because it has too many enemies.

Strange, I've see lots of tread from other poeples asking for more monster and enemies!!!

I think that other people want them for the mainboard.

More retro alternate endings. I am still waiting for the Pandora´s Box card!

Seem to me you want all cards from 2nd edition to make it to 4.5, does that include Timescape?

Actually, i only want the Pandora´s Box card. But Belt of Hercules is welcome too.

FFG has also bring back the Horrible Black Void, so why not Pandora´s Box:)

I think it would be cool if the box is on the top of the dragon tower, and after you have slay the dragon, you must open the chest to defeat your rivals

I liked those as 2nd edition alt.endings, but I could be happy if the Belt of Her and Pandora's Box are just object/cards too.

Since we're talking about (elsewhere) enemies, strangers and even followers that derive or take a nod from other, mostly literary sources, well, Hercules and his belt would make a great follower or stranger.

Pandora seems like a valuable ally follower or stranger too, but maybe every time she helps you, she opens the box and you can't guarantee what you get.

Maybe that pandora´s box could have 6 cards, which do different things. One of the six cards is the hope card. If you draw that card, you win the game.

But the other 5 cards will be nasty.

The Hope card as Talisman's Deux Machina?  I really like that.  Considering how many ways you can just flat out die, or "game over" with some of the alt.endings, or of course your favorite, Velhart - - Horrible Black Void - a personal and lasting Death!

A card that is the opposite is pretty cool, considering, chance-wise how often one would pull/encounter it.  Are you saying that the 6 cards are a random pull too? It makes it harder for The God-Card to work, but how sweet when it does…

Hi Oberon,

Well, i am still not sure what the Pandora´s box should do, but this idea came from Jon new (talismanisland)

Maybe there could also be a curse that if you draw it, then no one may use followers in the game etc. after that, you go back to the plain of peril.

I don't know if it would be fun if you add also a chance of death inside the box. ( as you draw a horrible black void card)

Yes, i like to have 6 random pandora cards, and one of them is the hope card, which is the card that you must draw to win the game.

But this is just a idea of course. The original Pandora's box is very interesting, and you must defeat the other characters by drawing adventure cards and spells.

In the 2nd Ed, Pandora was just about my favorite alt.ending. Thanks for sharing, Velhart.

Posted this as a own thread way back, but thought it would fit here aswell : )

when the last two corners are released and in place there will be two empty squares on each side of them on the long side of the board.

So I thought, hey, let´s fill it : )

A small expansion with two small boards in form of Castles (or if you have another idé?)

The castles would be covering one whole square and two half squares on the longside, meaning you could enter from three differnt squares, wich means you have a bigger chance to get in to a castle than perhaps city/tavern and so on. In the castles you would enter a courtyard wich perhaps could have a non-specific-market, and on each side there would be two or three shops (blacksmith, stable, healer, magic and so on, with a total of 4-6 shops to choose from) straight forward you have one big square with two small on each side ich could be entering the kings hall or something like that(where I dont know what would happend, perhaps the kings blessing?). This way you would have a better chance to get a place to buy stuff for you gold (wich always seems to be a complaint among players)

One castle would be for the "good" characters and the other for "evil"ones, "neutral" characters can go in either one.You could also spice things up in the following way. neutral characters can pass any castle without problems, but if a good passes(read lands on one of the three squares infront of the castle) the evil castle and vice versa, either the alarm is sound right away, or perhaps rolling a dice to se if you are spotted, leaving you to battle the castle guards (not to heavy characters, but just a new twist) If you win you win (and maybe nothing more needs to happend, you just defended yourself) but if you loose, maybe you loose a turn or two since they holds you prisoner (nothing a little gold can´t fix he he)

Toughts on this?

Best Regards.

I posted/queried about this some time ago myself. I was flatly told that no way were there going to be boards to fill that space.

I think I actually suggested that each of the two remaining boards were/could be larger to fill or run flush up to the board bordering.

In my mind, I think either would idea could work.  But I had different ideas about "what" would go there:

on the side between Tavern and City, I thought that space could be a desert!  But… the only way in was through the oasis on the Middle level.  The entrance space on this Desert board would be a "Bazaar" (think that is spelled right, which is I guess a desert-ish market place (Think "Haggling" which could be a cool dynamic if possible).  but I also thought that if you possess the Flying Carpet, you could get there from the Desert spaces on each side of the Oasis, but basically, this Desert Board is only enterable from that Middle region grouping of "Desert" Spaces.  Of course there would have to be some Desert themed adventure cards; Geni's and what not.  The Sultan's Harem… a bunch of pretty ladies that would heal you or give you rest - - unless the Sultan's guards - Eunuchs caught you.  What fun!

Now the space between the Chapel /Highlands and Village / Forest could be… a swamp - with Toad King, or …. The Ancient Burial Grounds,,,, kind of an older more Eldritch type of Cemetery with lots of Spirits and undead and maybe Lovecraftian kind of beings?

Other ideas that I have not thought as much about could be:   Citadels for Chaos and Order? This is harder for me to figure how the dynamics or mechanics could exist. I mean, we got Good Evil and Neutral, but there is also Chaos and Order. How could this concept work in Talisman?

But in this idea, it could play or display similar to your Castles, with various spaces being chambers or areas to learn skills or gain objects etc. for characters.

Of course considering the Desert as a board that extends off of Middle Region spaces, maybe the opposite side board should be extra-dimensional, but not Timescape, but maybe the portal is through the Graveyard somehow, and its more of a Death dimension than anything, but room for Lovecraft horrors, Super Undead beings, etc.    I think I did have an idea for some summoning space, with a bad roll resulting in the Reaper teleporting there to take care of your business.  But in an actual death dimension, I don't think the Reaper would have all those options…. maybe just # 1

Pre-painted minis sets of the existing characters!

They've done it with Arkham Horror line… why not Talisman?

This is not as important to me; if it was I'd probably learn how to paint them myself. (not an artist, sadly)

but not as important doesn't mean I wouldn't buy it, so ultimately I might.

I would like high quality, ceramic non painted miniatures. That are also all on model. Since this is a wish list I would have it done by Reaper or Games Workshop.

Well, if we 're talking miniatures, then I would want to see these for the various end boss cards; Ice Queen, Eagle King, Demon Lord and the Dragon Lords, any others that come along.
