Dolorous Edd said, "Now I understand why King Stannis let the wildings through the Wall.  He means for us to eat them."

Jon had to smile. "It will not come to that."

"Oh, good," said Edd. "They look a stringy lot, and my teeth are not as sharp as when I was younger."

Leave it to Edd to lightene the mood.

“They say it grows so cold up here in winter that a man’s laughter freezes in his throat and chokes him to death,” Ned said evenly. “Perhaps that is why the Starks have so little humor.”

"Though mayhaps this was a blessing.  Had he lived he would have grown up to be a Frey."

By far my favorite quote of any books in the ASOIAF series.  I couldn't stop laughing for almost five minutes.  Wyman Manderly attained legendary status with this one.

(with tears in his eyes) "For the Watch."

Because this part was the most gut-wrenching-tear-jerking-book-throwing moment in the whole series for me.

"A little nonesense now & then is relished by the wisest men." - Willy Wonka.
