This is a great thread. Nice to see that everyone likes the new weapons stats in the Errata.
The vast majority of the comments have been about the Marines and their weapons. What have people thought about the updated xenos weapons for Tyrannids and Tau? My first impression last year is that it would make combat too deadly for space marines. What have peoples experiences been with the new weapons for aliens and how did this change the game from pre to post errata?

there is no way that the FFG do an update of the Errata PDF?
i will become mad in order to extrapolate all from the forum…
cheers

Wow, considering when the last update was, this seems a little late.
Anyways, I was looking at the HB Errata stats, and I can't say I agree with them entirely. In the game I'm in, house rule is that HB's RoF is 6, which is entirely reasonable. However, looking at the reduced damage I can't say it makes sense to me.
(I'm about to make a comparison between Deathwatch and the Tabletop 40k game, bear with me, please)
In the tabletop game, a boltgun is a Rapid-Fire weapon, meaning it counts as making two effective attacks at half range if no movement is made, the equivalent of a Full-Auto burst from the unmodified Core Rules for the Godwyn (The Errata Rules for the Godwyn make no sense to me), if one treats two shots in Deathwatch as one shot in 40k Tabletop. The HB at RoF 6 would make sense under this conversion, as in Tabletop the HB is a Heavy 3 weapon (three effective attacks a turn). However, the HB is one Strength higher than the Boltgun (HB: 5, Bolter: 4). Given that this is on a scale of 10, the difference is by no means insignificant.
In Deathwatch, I don't believe that this difference is properly accounted for by an increase in Pen by 1, and an increase in minimum damage by 3. It seems to me the only option is to increase pen and minimum damage, or go back to 2d10 while reducing the minimum, ie: 1d10+15 or 2d10+8.
While theformer would increase the minimum damage, it would reduce the maximum, as it narrows the damage range. The latter would decrease minimum damage to that of a Boltgun, but would be able to potentially inflict more damage than the maximum of the former. These are just examples for the sake of argument, mind.
The HB as originally described in the Core Rulebook is definitely OP, but the Errata rules do, indeed, weaken it considerably. There needs to be some middle ground.
