Jar Jar at Cloud City Casino?
Published on 23 January 2013 - 12:26:59

Speaking of possibilities of prequel-related material appearing in SW:LCG, has anyone else noticed the Gungan on Cloud City Casino?

After Padmé kicked the bucket and the Empire took over, he became a shell of his former self, drifting from seedy bar to seedy bar, making his living any way he could.

Aaand now I want to start an Internet meme where people Photoshop Jar Jar into the background of scenes from the original trilogy. The Mos Eisley cantina, Jabba's palace, Cloud City, the sail barge. Maybe have him fall into the Sarlacc.

I second the motion to institute this meme.

And when we hear the truth, even if we don't understand it, we feel that truth resonate within us…vibrating with our unconscious wisdom. Perhaps the truth is not learned by us, but rather, the truth is re-called…re-membered…re-cognized…as that which is already inside us."   Peter Solomon, The Lost Symbol

Jar Jar destroyed the old republic, felt so bad about it, drank himself to oblivion.

Pretty much this, yeah.

I would be perfectly fine with them including Ep 1-3 era material, as long as they use the novels, and keep those p.o.s. movies out of it. For me, the only movies that exist so far are Episodes 4, 5, and 6.

A year ago I would have said "Shh… don't give Lucas any ideas!"

Now I think we are safe from him actually doing this for the next OT release, maybe the 40th anniversary in 2017.

QFT. I prefer to not have prequel stuff in the game, but as it has been pointed out, everyone gets their opinion.

Never seen the animated, but yes. I had forgotten about those.

Gungans, and just about anything else from the prequels, is considered a part of the Star Wars universe. I wouldn't be shocked if we start seeing Gungans and various other species but as they appear in the original trilogy time period. If you read the background fiction Naboo doesn't do so well under the Empire's control. I wouldn't mind seeing some cards that show the wartorn Naboo and the oppressed Gungans.

I think a lot of people who feel like Jar Jar was a bad idea wouldn't mind seeing a little Gungan oppression …

I would love to see some of this going on! Getting Moff Panaka, Pooja Naberrie as the Naboo Senator, Sabe as Leia's tutor, even Queen Kylantha in some manner, marvellous stuff! I do think it's important to note that Jar Jar is not representative of his species, though, and most Gungans aren't quite so apoplectic-rage-inducingly annoying. I mean, I'd be fine seeing Kleef pop up.

Indeed. Too many people focus on Jar Jar, somehow not realizing that when you take that specific individual out of the equation, the Gungan race is actually pretty awesome, whatwith the underwater cities and dinosaur cannons, and so forth.

What if the human race were judged solely on the merits of Paris Hilton?

I shudder at that thought.
