Do we know anything specific about this game?

Like, mechanics or gameplay, that kind of thing?  All I've seen is what the page here says, and that isn't much.

The cake is a lie.

This is very much new and fresh as today.  I wasn't even looking for it and also discovered a entirely new and squeaky FFG website along with it.

I think it looks very promising given that there is a "trailer", which I immediately watched frame-by-frame near the end to see something that looks like it could be the board with some sort of puzzle-matrix.

Do we think that the release of this game is the final outcome of the 'Jinteki' viral campaign of the last two months?

If it is, that doesn't actually help us much, but does imply that it's a major new release for FFG and contains some type of new component tech....

The video makes it look set in the Bladerunner type world... and that has me very interested and excited over this one. Hunting a killer, possibly an andy in a future noir world. That ranks very high in my world. Here's hoping to fly a spinner. :)

Dr Ray Stantz: Personally, I liked the university. They gave us money and facilities, we didn't have to produce anything! You've never been out of college! You don't know what it's like out there! I've *worked* in the private sector. They expect *results*.

What we know from the video:

  • 5 Investigators (Louis Blaine, Ache Beckmann, Caprice Nisei, Raymond Flint, Floyd)
  • 1 Murder (different murders to solve?)
  • Map (Arkham Horror kind of Map)
  • Conspiracy ("Puzzle" that leads to different conspiracies each time you play?)

Sorry for the double post, but I see now that there is a more elaborating thread about speculations javascript:void(0);/*1227348608384*/

All we know is that FFG says it has a street date of 12/08, which in reality means 09/09.

Sad but probably close to the mark.

this new game od the ffg captured my attention!

Although, my browser is in the middle of a conspiracy, in fact it had not yet load the page of the game, so i'm stuck in the middle of nowhere, with a big, glooming ? above. ( ? ? ? ? ?, imagine them glooming, ... and bigger).

The sci-fi background, a bit of Cyberpunk, or Shadowrun kind of thing, maybe, is good, and stimulate a lot my sci-fi-addicted mind, someone has more news?

Thanks to all.

Keep flying and keep gaming

Even though we have been burned in the past over release dates, it does feel like they are trying to change that. If this is the result of the viral camapign, then i am very happy. I think it will be availible in the US next month, but i doubt it will be under my tree in time, as europe tends to get things a few weeks after you guys.

Softly, catchy Monkey !

It definately has that Future Noir look to it and it has definately peak my interest also. I guess more will be revealed about it as the days and months go on.

Not sure about months...  Rumor has it it will be out the first week of December.  FFG is already sellingit.  I just wish they would post the rules soon so I can get a better idea if this is for me or not.

But with Kevin Wilson designing and a similar look of Arkham, I think it will be  agood choice.

"Android" is definitely the culmination of the Jinteki campaign.  I've posted a couple of related links (including a story on the FFG announcement) in the Jinteki thread in the old forums ( www.fantasyflightgames.com/ffgforums/forums/list.page ).

Kevin Wilson's about to make you his Vulch.

I find the whole thing strange.  A game comes out of nowhere (unless you count a viral marketing campaign that only a handful of people paid any attention to).  It's positioned to be in time for Christmas lists but without even a clue as to what the game is or how it's played, how many people are going to go for it?  Nobody in my group, that's for sure.  Kevin already said the rules will be out soon, and that's great, but a game with zero hype is still an odd thing.  It seems much like a movie that comes out with no advance screenings... and I think we all know why THAT happens.  I had to listen to Agricola hype seemingly forever before that came out and, of course, the game didn't come close to living up to the hype.  I can well see why FFG might want to avoid excessive pre-publication hype, but it just seems that this might be a bit too much in the opposite direction.  Ah well, perhaps this time next year we'll all own a copy and love it to death and won't even remember its odd beginnings.
