Reaper...tends to focus all the characters to the same stretches of the board (on the Outer Region), leading to more PvP action, which is another plus for me.

Amen.

I have only the dungeon.  I usually try to extend my list of base games rather than upgrade/expand my current collection.  Maybe a bad idea, but I feel there are more options that way.  Reaper sounds great from everything I've heard of it; probably my next purchase in the game realm.

Good conversion, that is one of the best dragon mini I have seen - fits good for dragon tower as well.

NO WAY!

He should be the main thing to Talisman and shine over the board with his size to remind all off his great power

Also Talisman board is bigger than ever

Best single expansion at this moment:

1: Sacred Pool exp

2: Reaper exp

3: Dungeon exp

4: The Highlands exp

5: Frostmarch exp

__________

I choose Dungeon above Highlands, because you can level up fast there.

Highlands is full of objects and low enemies who can slow the game down i think.

But the good points for Highlands is the characters, the Dragon retro cards, and the powerful Arnkell card, that makes it worth to travel there.

Highland expansion feels more like a goldmine region. But we can do not much with the gold yet. Maybe that this will change in the future, if the City comes out.

Hmm, all of the expansions have their good points...

1. Reaper - I choose reaper at the top of my list because it expands the adventure deck so much (it was the first expansion I got... prior to receiving it I always used to run out of adventure cards and then have to reshuffle the discard pile... which got a little stale, not had the problem since)... Plus the imminent doom that follows the Reaper as he makes his approach keeps the game exciting (everyone pays attention when the bony finger of death is within rolling distance!)

2. The Highland - this was a tough decision, between this and the dungeon, but I chose the highland because of how accessible it is in the early game. It expands the play area out and introduces some great new characters. There's some pretty decent items lingering in the hills too! The ability to warp to any space in the outer and middle regions upon beating the (pretty easy) Eagle King is really useful too!

3. The Sacred Pool - The extra endings keep the game fresh, and the new cards place a larger emphasis on morality which also adds a lot of depth (hohoho, inadvertent pun!). The new spells and characters are pretty cool too, as is the inclusion of new warlock-quests and quest rewards (other than Talismen). Its a bit of a game-changer and can add some focus to the game that helps maintain a fast pace (to keep all players interested).

4. The Dungeon - The dungeon board is a more interesting place than the Highland, and offers higher rewards, but there are so many tough enemies in there that it's not really viable to enter until you've done some serious grinding on the main board (or highlands) beforehand... once you are tough enough though the dungeon is a great place to "level up" quickly. Sometimes when I play with the dungeon expansion with friends who haven't played the game as much, everyone stays away from the dungeon as soon as anyone enters and inevitably runs into some nasty beast with huge craft/strength.

I got the Frostmarch expansion in the post a few days ago and havent had a chance to play it yet, so I can't say where in the list I'd place it, but glancing through the cards I like how the odds of being turned into a toad have increased, along with some pretty brutal spells. The Warlock seems a bit overpowered, but we'll see!

1/2. Almost pretty ex aequo Frostmarch and Sacred Pool.

Both of them are giving us the greatest Spells. Hydra when used in right moment may be deadly for all of our opponents, including the owner of iriginal Spell. Toadify! gives us 50% possibility to turn an enemy into Toad, and with a bit of luck possibility to take his stuff (Objects and Followers) and/or kill the Toad. Marked For Glory is uber great Spell against LoD.

Sacred Pool provides us Misfortune. We all know what it does, and what a great combo with Grim Reaper it is. Stasis is some kind of stealer. Character dwars Rune Sword, is happy, then we are casting Stasis and player must say "goodbye" to his Rune Sword. Vindication has more possibilities to kill than to help Character. And also there is few stealing Spells.

As for Adventure Cards. Frostmarch has a snow theme, and most of its cards are "snowish". It is introducing great Treasure Chest/Map combo, Basilisk, Arcane Archive . And I fall in love with Icecap Elk artwork!

Also thematic set, some great cards, cultist finally got their name and status. Finally Neutral Alignment, and most of cards have über great artwork, like Discordant Dirge, Cathedral, Fel Steed or Infernal Legion.

3. Highland

Trinkets is what we really need! Whole set is very easy and it is great for Characters who want to rest a little, who want explore a new Region without being killed in next two rounds.

4. Reaper

This set is just a random cards, they aren't thematic or anything. They just are by themselves.

5. Dungeon

Definitely TOO MUCH enemies! If I would want to fight every turn with some kind of crap, I would start playing DungeonQuest instead. I'm not a big fan of this expansion generally.
