How Long?
Published on 24 December 2012 - 15:46:24

For those of you that have already played, I was wondering how long the two scenarios took.  How much time should I allocate for:

  1. Escape from Mos Shuuta
  2. Long Arm of the Hutt

Thanks in advance.

Escape from Mos Shuuta took us roughly 3 hours.

Depends how much your group takes to RP in the hangar control area and scrap shop (and possibly with Trex), but 3-4 hours is about right. If they fight troopers until the end, it's going to take a while.

spent 2 hours on mos shutta so far next night we will probably kill it then off to long arm of the hutt. Im excited to get this story moving i just need to make some changes to make sure the group (who are using self made characters to go in the direction).

Started play about 3:00, finished Encounter 5 at 6:00, but they spent 20 minutes arguing about how to raise money to pay off the lockdown on the ship… and then one player snuck in to control and sliced it. They wound up adding 3 extra scenes, too.

Mos Shuuta took us 5 1/2 hours, but we're a casual group that constantly pause to tell a joke or an unrelated story (the fresh made dinner by one of our players didn't help time-wise either as we took a break to eat, meaning it was a bit slow to jump back in). We're also a fairly roleplay heavy group so I let the players have fun arguing and scheming with each other (the junk job was a hoot because the group would litterally talk to the guy, then step a couple paces back and huddle to discuss their options, I mean the actual players leaned in and spoke in hushed voices.)

My group took about four to five hours to get through the Escape adventure, but that included some interludes between each encounter involving trying to get from one point to another unnoticed. They'd also been rather badly beaten after failing to be sneaky at the Control Center and I suggested they might want to lay low for a bit to try to recover. Following that, they repeatedly failed to be sneaky about trying to get to the Docking Bay, and there was an interlude where they got separated and had to try to elude pursuit to meet back up, so if I'd left that out, it probably would have been 3 hours.

As a note, my group was extremely effective in combat and, aside from the Control Center, cleared every fight I gave I gave them in two rounds or less. I had a group of three, and none of them were playing VEX.
