Hey I've been looking around where to buy core set or tell my friends and others who want to get into the game and no one has it and can't order it. All the hobby stores can't get it the FFG shop is sold out the only place is eBay. This game just came out what's going on?

Proper marketing strategy by FFG.

They sold the first few hundred copies at Gencon (months before the actual release) in some 5 minutes after the con opened.

It has been out for a month now and is hugely popular. A reprint is already on the way and is currently listed as on the boat.

It is on the boat already so they have already been printed. Just need to arrive and get shipped out to distributors, stores etc. Get your orders in now with your store so they know how many to bring in. This one is selling even better than LotR did. Glad I already bought two.

But is it just me who was so intrigued by the coverage on FFG HP that I felt like I desperately have to own a copy. Bordering on addictive behaviour.

I even looked for a game store in Edinburgh Scotland on a trip entertaining the hope that distribution in UK might have started before Germany.

Is there any other reason for this run on copies of A:NR than the one which spellbound my unworthy self?

Because it's one of the two best card CCGs ever?  (The other being Vampire: The Eternal Struggle).

I don't think FFG had any idea how popular this game would be… I still have my original NR cards, and had recently dug them out and been planning to create a few constructed decks for play with friends when I heard about ANR.

But is there still such a large active community for the original NR? As I understand it it is quite old and you have to be about my age (mid thirties) to know it. As it were I don not know it which leads me to the question whether it was published in Europe back then.

It was released in Europe back then, I distinctly remember seeing the game in a local game store (in 96-97). Alas, I was playing M:tG at the time (not competitively) and definitely didn't have the budget to play NR as well (I was in high school - I'm not quite 30). I know players of the CCG who took to the LCG.

V:TES was a pretty good game if you could get a group to play. if you only had 1 or 2 people it was rather dull. to bad they went under though. i think i still have a giovani deck in a box somewhere

My FLGS sold out their 5 copies in one day (afternoon really) and then one has not hit the shelves since because of all the special orders.  It's crazy popular.

I got my 2nd from CSI and there are other e-retailers that can likewise get you hooked up.
