How are most of you planning on storing your Netrunner cards?  For those that already have some of the other Living Card Games, how have you stored them?  Right now I'm just using the box, but as more and more cards are added, I could see that becoming harder to do.  I though about going full on card geek and getting a binder, but then I'm not sure if you can get them with some sort of pocket to place the rule book.   I plan on getting one of the FFG dek boxes and am hoping the counters will all fit in the counter holder (but I kind of doubt they will).  Anyway, looking for what other folks are doing/planning to do so I can steal….errrr….borrow some ideas.  :)

I hadn't considered putting each deck in it's own box.  I had assumed I could fit both in the same box.  but now that I consider it, those boxes state they hold 100 cards so it would only work as long as the decks were at or very close to the minimum size.  I also just kind of like the artwork on the box so would hate to ditch it entirely.  Maybe what I'll end up doing is taking the insert out of the box and then putting card boxes inside the box itself with the tokens in bags.  That would probably work.  Especially if the deck boxes from FFG fit in there.

for me there is only one viable way to store cards… while people put some amazing work into boxes containers or adding inserts… I think the only real option is pocket sheets….

I use ultra pro sheets, you can hold 4 LCG cards in a single pocket sleeved with dragon shields with ease…. then grap a nice thick and haerd cover binder like shown here, you can even get binders in leather and other nice materials.

What you know have is a book you can flip though were you can see every single card face. Great for showing off to other players as well as just looking though your collection to deck build or just get off. As it is sheets you can easily order your cards if yuo want entire factions in a single area….

So I store the tokens and other crap in the original box, but eventually move them to the smaller major expansion when that is released.

For individual decks I wish to take to an event.. I simply use an old dragon shield box, or I make a tuckbox form imagery form the net.

Ultra Pro has dual deck boxes. They hold a total of 180 sleeved cards in two 90 card places. I've found them online for 5 dollars as well as at my FLGS for the same price. I've never tried them but they seem perfect for Netrunner, especially if you go the minimalist route and build a 45 card deck. Two 45 card decks in one slot, all the tokens, dice, and counters you could want in the other (Still would put them all in a tiny baggie inside the slot though).

sounds neat.. but teh problem i have with box solutions for card games is that as you end up with 1000s of card it takes you forever to find certain cards. This is why i go with teh sheets, as you can flip though your collection like a book and see every card face….

I totally agree with that. I prefer to keep my CCGs/LCGs in binders. They protect them and make deck building a breeze. I keep my Magic rares in a binder. I will probably be keeping my Netrunner cards in a binder as well as the packs start releasing. With the small amount I have now (Two core sets) it just isn't feasible to be constantly paging and unpaging as I build and tear decks apart several times a day.

I was only suggesting the dual deck box as a means of transporting to gaming sessions.

 I have a number of FFG deck boxes I use for other games (I bought five at $3 a pop @GC), but the decks alone are a tight squeeze— and the tokens are nowhere close to fitting within the token box. I'm using a larger cardboard box at the moment, and it fits well; mine is finished, but you can probably find an appropriately sized box in the storage (not deck box) section of your LGS. 

As for the unused cards, I'm storing them by number in a Ultra Pro Pro Binder; it should probably get me at least through the first cycle of data packs, because you can stack 4-6 cards comfortably per slot, so I don't need to spread out duplicates. Also, once you go side–loading, you never go back. 

 I put my decks into Dragon Shields and then into a standard card box. I also use the Binder/Sleeve approach for cards to make deck building easier. 

I picked up two core sets, so I'm thinking of modding one of the boxes to better carry things, as there's a hell of a lot of "dead space" in the box. It should be possible to add in lift flaps on the sides.

The core set box was made for the rulebook (and shelf–space, too, probably), not to store cards. Oh well, it's really nice & I'll end up not pitching it until the next time I move. (But the rulebook was totally worth it.)

I'm not sure I agree with you. It's got room for about 3 rows of cards stored on a long edge. I suspect you'll be able to fit one core set and the genesis cycle on one row. The current box configuration is designed for rigidity and visual appeal but can be retooled with some xacto knife surgery.

It's still a beautiful & well–made box, though! FFG packaging & components always impress me vs the rest of the industry. 

You can take your Netrunner card box, pull up the cardboard insert, turn it upside down, re-insert it. Now you have two rows for cards, and you can push in the flaps in the center or cut a bigger hole in the center to store bags of tokens etc.

Even better than that is to pull out the cardboard insert, flatten it out, then reverse the folds and get much the same effect, except you get to look at the inside artwork instead of plain cardboard.

Regarding binders :
I used to do binders for other games, but have given it up.

The difference for me is that I found that deck building with online tools such as the cardgamedb website is better than looking at the cards themselves.  At least for me, it's easier to do some queries, e.g. "what Ice can I get from outside HB that is 1 influence" and get a list, rather than flipping back and forth through a binder.

Unless I'm really quickly throwing together a deck, I'll use a tool to make a deck list, and then build from that.

And so, it's enough to just sort cards by faction and alphabetically, and store them in a standard cardboard card box.  Works just as well for deck building once I have my list.  I find boxes are more portable and better protection than a binder.

Obviously your mileage may vary.

I only sleeve cards that are in decks.  For this game, FFG silverlines because they are clear and I like the way the Netrunner backs look.  Loose cards go in vertical oriented boxes and are sorted by faction/type/alphabetic order with labeled dividers so finding the card I want is never an issue.

Decks will go in red and blue Rook deckview capsules:

X2 each of blue/red is enough for main decks.  Black deckview capsules are good enough for any other fun/b-decks.  I like the plexi-window because it provides a visual of the Identity card.  The tokens and other game amenities will be stored within the ziplocks that came with the game inside regular capsules; credit tokens in one, the rest in another.

The capsules are carried in one of these:

Rook cases are steel, so when fully weighted with cards they are ideal for braining potential muggers.  Since the case is big enough to hold 16 Rook capsules I will most likely carry extra cards I am looking at possibly swap into decks (like sideboards) or maybe even the complete collection until it gets large enough to warrant the big box.

EDIT: I agree 100% with prune about cardgamedb.  This will be the third LCG I have picked up that will benefit from the site's tech.

Sleeves and then put main decks into deck boxes I have left over from playing MtG. Throw tokens into a third deck box, and I am able to at least be ready to play but not ready to modify the decks.

Either will keep all remainder of cards in the orignal core box, sleeved and sorted, or purchase one of the long card boxes that can still fit into a sidebag for times when my friends and I test/modify decks.
