It'd be pretty strong in any deck, which could be a touch problematic…

In Memoriam: Lest we Forget their Brave Sacrifice, Citizens of Arkham!

Diane Stanley:  irretrievably lost in both time and space

Wilson Richards: swallowed by a moonbeast

Agnes Baker: suicide, induced by a feverish paranoia

Roland Banks: Missing, presumed dead.  Last seen in Innsmouth.

Yes, though at least you have to pay a bit (though 2 may be better). Then again, AstroScript Pilot Program doesn't have an influence cost and I would argue it is worse.

That's what shocked me most about Data Raven. Originally I was evaluating Scorched Earth to put in my NBN deck, and it costs 4. I thought to myself, there is no way Data Raven has an influence cost. Not only DID it have a cost, it was only 2!

NBN's influence costs seem extremely low, and I suspect we will see a lot of Weyland / NBN decks in the meta.

Of course, not everything has been revealed yet. We don't know all the tricks Runners have up their filthy unwashed sleeves. And, naturally, the cards may play very differently than they read. Still, NBN looks to be on good footing as a support in any deck.

As an Agenda, Astroscript Pilot Program is only available to NBN, so it can't be in 'any' deck, only NBN decks.

And it doesn't have a trash cost, so the runner cannot even get rid of it (short of cards we haven't seen yet).

In terms of original NR, there were very few cards that trashed IC - demolition run being the only one coming to mind. There were some effects that derezzed IC. My point is that IC does not have a trash cost, and unless under special circumstances, can not be trashed.

Yes. But I would much rather have Data Raven or Matrix Analyzer in another Corp's deck over AstroScript Pilot Program anyway. It just seems weird that you can't put ASPP in another deck, but you can put much better cards in at relatively low costs.

I totally agree. These two IC are incredible - possibly the best cards I've seen released so far. Personally, if these keep an influence cost, I think it needs to be 5.

They lose some oomph when they leave NBN's networks though, given NBN's automatic 2 bits for tracing.  Corp's using these borrowed ICE are paying for them in more ways then one.

Neither Data Raven nor Matrix Analyzer say the magic words 'End the Run'

I think yall are overrating them a bit.

Even if it does not end the run, having the ice do something that the runner cannot prevent by breaking it is pretty overpowered.

Powerful.  You mean powerful.  It's waaaaaaay too early in the game to call things "overpowered".

Have to agree with radiskull. No one has even played the game yet. To say that something is "overpowered" is pretty silly. Lets wait til the game comes out and we have a few sessions under our belts before we start labeling cards as being overpowered. Seems the sensible thing to do. no?

That's a fair point. Coming from the original, I feel it is overpowered, but with A:N things will be a little different so we will just have to see.

Agreed. Definitely one to keep an eye on, though.

Well yes. As I've said, things will likely play out much differently in practice. But the release isn't for a few days till a few weeks or months away depending on where we are, and we need something to talk about.

And Hadrian's Wall behind Data Raven is giving the Runner TWO birds.
