Rite of sundering/ Immateria ward

In Tome of Fate there is a ritual called the Rite of sundering which floods an area with warp energy. The problem is that you take 1d5 Corruption for every hour that you stay in that area. In the Radical's Handbook there is a device that blocks corruption points gained by exposure to the warp. Can it be used to nullify the risks inherent with using this rite?

In the item description, it states that "This prevention occurs once for each exposure," so I'd say that it'd only block the first six corruption points you gain. So, basically, depending on your rolls, it'd block the first couple hours of corruption gained from the ritual, but no more beyond that.

The Radical's Handbook as written for a different game line several years ago.

Any GM who lets you do that isn't doing his job…

There are no female Space Marines. Don't believe me?

Gender & Appearance
Due to the special nature of the zygotes that make up a Space Marine's geneseed, all Space Marines are male.

So enough with the Female Marine threads…

I believe equipment in interchangeable between games. Items from Dark Heresy can be used in Black Crusade. They all have availlability ratings so they can be rolled for. All basic equipment is identical between game lines ( a flack jacket in DH = a flack jacket in BC)

You're missing my point.

The Radical's Handbook was written years ago. Tome of Fate was only written recently. We can't take every piece of wargear from every book into account when writing new rules, as that would drive us mad. The fact that items can be transferred across between games with little work is a nice bonus, but the 40K RPG's are not some single homogenised game. They are 5 different games that happen to share a base rule-set.

I look over everything within the product line I'm working on (in this case, all 3 BC books that existed when I wrote the expanded Rites and Rituals in ToF) and went from there. I didn't look for an obscure item from a book written years ago for a different product line. If you found a combo between those two books that is potentially unbalanced, then that's an unforeseen consequence of using items from two different product lines and, as I said, any GM who lets you do that isn't doing his job.

Quite a lot of things has changed between the systems. Check Dam and Pen of Plasma Weapons in DH and BC and you'll see quite a defference. I support using items from multiple systems but you have to be carefull because they sometimes are over- or underpowered. Image using a drug from book of judgement that gives +30 to WP tests with BC psyker.

Also there already is a way to limit corruption gain in BC Game Master's Kit.
