I was just wondering if there's a chance FF would come up with a mini of Valyndra? (maybe after the other lieutenants are out)
Or is that a little optimistic?
I guess otherwise I'll have to start looking for a replacement mini.

They haven't announced anything about a Valyndra figure.  Time will tell, I suppose.

I heard one person say he was using Mimring from Heroscape as a proxy.  Sounds like a pretty good idea to me. 

Seeing as they released all the lieutenants from RtL I figure they'll eventually give us minis for all expansion lieutenants in D2e too.

Until then either a shadow or crypt dragon works fine as a proxy for me. If I ever happen to have both crypts and shadows on the board, with valyndra, I have other stuff I could use instead of the boring token. Don't know if any of the valyndra missions even make that a possibility though.

I was thinking the dragon mini from Descent 1E might be a good temporary proxy figure, I think the base might even be the right size and shape ( I haven't compared yet though, so I'm not positive on that)

I don't think so. Look how many proiblems they are haviong with the first minis - they should be out last year and they will come, if nothing changes, in 3Q  2013. I'm using a dragon from 1st Descent as Valyndra in my games.
