I don't know if this has already been discussed, but what are your opinions on Tobin Farslayer? Do you think, they will change his special ability, so he doesn't break the game?
I didn't get his figure yet, but I'm considering buying him until the release of 2nd Edition…

They've changed every other hero's ability, so I don't see why Tobin would be any different.

I'm sure they will have changed his ability somewhat. Whether it's following similar lines as his 1e ability or something entirely new remains to be seen.
Whether or not his power will still be brokenly cool, however, is less easy to tell. Personally, I would love to see all the heroes be roughly equal in terms of power level, so that they each provide their own flavour, but none of them are "must haves" or "must avoids." On the other hand, Tobin is a promo hero, and one of the primary roles of promo items is to be "so awesome" that people will jump through whatever ridiculous hoops the company sets up in order to get them. They end up destroying game balance, but the company offering them gets higher attendance at their events, so they don't really care.
Based on the way the four promo heroes are being trotted out for the "2e Preview Event" they advertised a couple of weeks ago, it doesn't look like FFG has any intention of ceasing to use them in this manner as 2e progresses. Hopefully he won't be broken, but I wouldn't count on his ability being average joe, either.
