Hi guys, i recently got bitten by the X wing bug and have now decided to build my own board, i was originally going to build another death star surface table but now ive decided to do a Hoth themed board, now i can use all that modelling snow i have laying about1

Anyway i have a blog here if anyone wants to keep up with how i get on, when ive finished i will be sure to post pictures!

Is anyone else building a Hoth Board?

yeah,
Looks like a great start.

Was there a reason that X-wings didn't attack the AT-ATs only snow speeders??

The X-wings were needed to escort the Rebel transports etc. that were attempting to break the Imperial blockade.  The ion cannon immobilized the Star Destroyers then the X-wings accompanying the transports would be there to pick off skirmishers etc.

Only a few X-wings were left on the surface to help evacuate the Rebels who had been holding off the Imperial ground-based forces.

The snow speeders by that point had pretty much become a disposable asset.  They wouldn't be needed whereever the Rebels were evacuating to (presumably a non-frigid environment) and they were pretty cheap too.  They did their job, and did it well :-)

What the heck are YOU looking at?!
