Ok, so I have been a Rebel player. I wanna try out the imps. I see a lot of players running tie swarms. What are the tactics for imps? I know u will have more ships, should you keep them together, or spread them out? What are some builds you have had success with?

Do not spread them out. You have to be willing to sacrifice ships, but not without inflicting some damage along the way. Use TIEs to create overlaps for the Rebel, causing them to lose their action.

Ok, so I put together this squad:

Howlrunner

Darth Vader- mark

3x Acad pilot

Black Squad pilot

Hiw well do you think this will run? Should I use more named pilots? Should I lose Vader for more ties?

This is only partially true.  It's okay to create 2 or 3 groups of TIEs and split them up.  It forces your enemy to make difficult choices.  Do they likewise split up and fight a multiple front battle (a significant synergy disadvantage for Rebels; especially those running Biggs) or let one of your groups slip behind them?

Of course, you don't want to have 8 TIES out there each doing their own thing.  They'll get picked off too easily.

For an Empire player you'll be running in quantity. Your fighters are cheap and don't have the staying power for a lot of hits. What you'll need to do is choose a target and focus as much fire as you can on it to get as many hits as possible.

The TIE Advanced x1 on the other hand behaves more like a rebel fighter and comes with missiles. You're still not going to have the hitting power of rebel craft (at 2), but you have more natural abilities at your disposal and you're more manuverable. If you're flying an advanced, Vader is a must.

Marksmanship is good on anyone who can take it, but it's better on a ship that rolls more than 2 attack dice. Some people love it. I tend to only like it on Mithel and Steele and then mostly to instill dread. Dice advantage should generally do a lot of the work for the imperials when they fight the rebels. 2 attack dice with 4 hit results and 2 focus should eventually beat out 2 defense dice with 3 evade results and 2 focus.  Just fly smart. Above anything else, fly smart.

He who thinks only about himself will destroy himself.

I'd imagine this is rule number one right here!
