Thought it might be fun to add wreck markers to certain games as obstacles when a ship is destroyed. I resized them to about the size of a damage card then cut around them.

Love the idea, but you should've just linked all the pictures in one comment. If I do a version like this, I think instead of markers, I'll try to make fake little pieces of ships or something, to work like astroids that come into play.

The only effect I can see wrecks having on gameplay is maybe the debris from a blown up ship goes in a straight line from the last heading and might pelt any ships in its path the turn after it's destroyed, like in TIE fighter if you're following too close to something you just blasted. Else, fighter wrecks don't really make an impact IMO.
