On the subject of manufacturing, it won't break my heart if they end up using the bendier plastic, like WotC used. I could sacrifice a little detail for some extra durability. Seeing those TIEs with their wings broken off in that latest video made me kinda nervous...
Why… are these boards… so… slooooooow?
Oog. IJT and I agree on most stuff, but I'll pass on the bendy plastic. I want QUALITY stuff! Being a modeler I can take care of it. The big trick though, I suppose, would be to market the (later) individual pieces in a package w/ a window. That way you can see if your fifteen-dollar piece is good out of the package. Interior shaped shells will also be critical. They might well come in pieces for assembly, too.
Thus do I undo all Gordian Knots!
Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have more beautiful (but more brittle) ships too.
Perhaps I'll have have my opponents sign a waiver saying if they break it, they owe me 15 bucks!

Let's see if this gets censored.
My friends and opponents: keep your dick-beaters off my ships.

Personally I am not a big star wars fan but I am excited to play this.

The game still IS in playtest, after all.
...they might be thinking that no information is better than bad information they'll have to retract later.
FFG's normal mode of operation is to start with the teasers 3 months out, so perhaps we'll start getting them as Christmas presents
Oh yes. I totally agree with you. I wasn't trying to insinuate that FFG was falling behind in their duties or any such thing. I was merely trying to express my excitement to learn more about the game and how time is going so slow because I'm so eager to buy it and play it. You could say it was just a pointless post of anticipation . . . isn't that what this thread is about?
I hope that FFG uses the same type of plastic that was used for Wings of War miniatures. It is rigid enough to hold good details without being brittle. It's also not bendy at all.
Maybe I'll go watch the blu-ray tonight...
You can teach monkeys to fly better than that!
I don't know, 'cos I have no WoW planes, but I'd guess they're actually resin. That's what most "hard" minis seem to be these days. All the Konami, F-Toys, Furuta and so on, they're all resin.
Speakin' of resin: this has absolutely zero to do with X-Wing but I'm so excited I gotta tell somebody! I just won a resin kit of the STAR FORGE off eBay. The Star Forge!! I couldn't believe it!! I had no idea such a kit even existed - found it utterly by accident. 110 mm (4 5/16") high, four pieces. Easy and incredibly fun!
Thus do I undo all Gordian Knots!
That is so COOL, IG-58! I didn't know they made that either. It'll make a nice backdrop to your X-wing games, especially if they did branch out into the old republic era. At least with the advent of the new MMO they'll have a larger selection of ships to choose from than they had with the first two KotOR games. I could stand to see those ships made in the same scale as the Slave I and Millennium Falcon. They'd probably be really popular choices, and they could include characters from the MMO for the pilots. I wonder if people would buy them. I bet they'd be pretty popular. Like I said, I think I'd get them even though I'm not gonna play TOR, just because a Ph.D. takes so much time as it is.
THE Star Forge?! That's amazing! I just did a search for such a thing, and it looks way cool. I also saw a Hound's Tooth resin model, but it was going for 64.00 AUD. I'm glad this game isn't going to be that expensive!
Some people play to win. I play because it's one of the few ways to fly an X-wing here on Earth!
I can't wait for this. I still have a few of the old metal die-casts from the late 70s. I really hope they do a scale Millennium Falcon in the future.

I will be happy if they made the models in hard plastic, I'm a scale modeller and a wargame player so I like to see details on the models I use. Only another point of view.
